I have a 18 Gallon Keg which was given to me.

I am wondering if it would be any good to use, it is a Keg manufactured by Mytton Rodd LTD, it also has a red band around the centre with Carmal Cellannaster Wines written on it.

It also has 2 ball lock fittings, a steel relief valve as well as a large revovable filling/cleaning hole.

Can you buy spare parts for these type of kegs? If so where from?

It is also missing the dip tube can this also be bought?

As you can see I am a bottler not a kegger any info would be greatly appreciated

Richo,

I can only suggest you get in contact with Craig Deacon from Kegsystems in Beaconsfield, near Alexandria. You can get him at www.kegsystems.com.au

Ok the keg is a 45 litre,

Well this I took the keg to Keg Systems as suggested by Linz.

The keg is perfect for home brewing.

Craig Deacon the director, manufactured a new did tube, and overhauled the keg, replacing all seals, pressure testing ect.

I also purchased 2 reconditioned 19 litre kegs for $70 each

Any keg problems give this man a ring very helpful and friendly service.

I have been using one of these 45 litre kegs as a fermentor and they are great. Put a grey gas diconnect on the gas outlet with a length of beer line on itas a blow off tube. To get the beer out simply push it out with CO2 into the 18l jobs for secondary then serve!
Its a long way cheaper than an expensive fancy connical.
Something to think about.
