Had a pint there on Saturday night. Quite nice. Was slightly more bitter than what I was expecting, but that was in no way a bad thing. Will def pick up a case.

I did an extract version a couple of weeks ago using a tin of light liquid extract and a tin of wheat. Steeped some caramalt and used DrSmurto's latest hopping schedule (although I subbed the 60mins addition for a higher AA hop). Two weeks in the bottle and it tastes pretty darn good. Will see...

I'd say it's more double IPA than barley wine. I might pick up a bottle just to see how it ages.

Got to try it at the Malt Shovel brewery tour last week and while I thought it was good, I don't know if I can justify the price for it.

Been thinking about heading to Malaysia on my next SE Asia trip. I'm a regular in the Philippines, where $0.50 beers and a $2 pack of smokes are the norm (though i have given up smokes since my last visit).

Had no idea they changed name. I was there about a month ago and had a LCBA during my lunch break. It was quite dead, with about three people there in total (including myself). Might swing by again, but with the macqurire hotel only 2mins away it's probably not worth the effort.

I did listen to that podcast and found it quite interesting and also quite weird considering I thought he'd be plugging his own product more. I didn't take a mouthful of it, but I did try a few drops and it seemed quite neutral to me. I could not detect a noticeable chlorine or vinegar taste??

That is what I was picking up, just a faint smell of it but it was enough to send me to panic stations.

Thanks for the help guys. I did make the solution at 1.6ml/1L so I'm not sure what went wrong. Will look at getting myself a bottle of Starsan.
