Thanks Jan Yes calibrated prior to first use, I have only used it for 5 brews so far. Good to know that the manual hydrometer is still the way to go. Cheers Nick.

    Rapt Pill

Hi all I have been using rapt pill for a number of brews now and I like it. It provides me with the information I want and allows me to monitor my brew easily. The only issue I seem to have is the difference in the OG reading compared to my Hydrometer. For example, my current brew, which I...

    Digital Hydrometer

Hi everyone I was after any feedback, reviews, recommendations on digital hydrometers. I have no problems using my $15 hydrometer, however am intrigued by the tilt and ifloat options. I would see not having to take samples during fermentation as a benefit. I have seen reviews, David Health is...

How long can I leave a NEIPA in the fermenter

thanks, one last question, perhaps for beergee. I have read that leaving hops in too long is not good and creates grassy flavours. With leaving the magnet attached and sliding into the wort, do you generally then pull the hops out after 3/4 days or you don't thin it matters?

How long can I leave a NEIPA in the fermenter

Thanks everyone, I now have my magnets and hop socks. Does everyone also use something to weigh the socks down in the beer? I've read that you get a better result if the hops aren't just sitting on top. I've also read that people sanitise the socks, just wondering if adding hops to a wet sock...

How long can I leave a NEIPA in the fermenter

Great thanks Yes I have been reading about the magnet solution. I might give that a try, it seems less complicated than the hop bong. Any recommendations on where to get them? What is your definition of a strong magnet? Sorry not a scientific bone in my body. Cheers

    First all grain recipe advice

hi all I have been allgrain brewing for a while now but I have been using recipe kits. I'm now about to try a couple of recipes I had found on brewers friends. I just wanted to confirm that the following is true for most brewing recipes 3:1 water to grist ratio 60 minute mash around 67...
