    Smoked pineapple beer recipe

Tepache I like what I see there - never heard of it before but I'm sure it goes well with some Tequila! On the list for the next BBQ. Thanks for the inspiration

    What are you brewing 2022

The DA is good and very drinkable. The punters here on the weekend all thought is was good but drank the White Horse in preference. The high amount of Golden Syrup (I expect barley was in short supply in 1917) gave it great colour but made it a little bit "sweet" for my liking. Not a bad drop at...

Hi, from a newbie in Canberra

It is quite smooth - I think the lactose is what gives it this flavour. IT is a bit like drinking an iced vanilla coffee with bubbles I guess. Definitely feels "thick" in the mouth and it has been a hit with everyone so far.

Hi, from a newbie in Canberra

Hi Mate Recipe can be found here. The vanilla flavour did not come through immediately (added when kegged) but two weeks after it did and is great. Cheers n Beers Jolls

Hi, from a newbie in Canberra

Hi Dutto I am doing a combination - one old from Bronzed Brews and one new from something I have liked. Trying to see what was done historically and compare it to what is being done now. Currently drinking a Tooths 1921 White Horse Ale, and apple cider and a Vanilla Milk Stout. 1917 Reschs DA...

    High FG

Thanks Mark You are a lifesaver. Take two days off next weekend! A definite lightbulb moment for me. I had wondered about the how the refractometer compensated for the "dirtiness" of the brew and rationalised that it was measuring the light refraction from the sugars. I assumed that the...

    High FG

Hi Brainstrust, Need a bit of help based on the wisdom of more experienced brewers. I took Marks advice and purchased a good thermometer. Threw down the next brew and was super vigilant with the temperature in the new Brewzilla 4. Had the brew in the fermenter for 10 days SG 1.034, and there...

First crack at a Vanilla Milk Stout

I kegged the Vanilla Milk Stout. The additional loctose mixed with boiling water didn't do much at all. I had great flavour but a little bitter compared to the original. Cetainly not as sweet as that produced in Wagga. I went with a little exeperiment and backsweetened it to taste with caster...

    Brewzilla 35l Gen 4

I contacted Kegland about the profile issue I was having. Not really and issue as such - the profiling hasn't been finished yet so it is not functioning. They will let us know when they have finished the work and release it for use. Would have been ice to have included a short note to save us...

    Brewzilla 35l Gen 4

I'll let you know how it turns out. Tasted great out of the pot! I'm keen to develop a feel for waht the early brewers were making and thinking (well early in Oz that is) combined with soe of the newer stuff. Just kegged a Vanilla Milk Stout (new) and a 1931 Tooths White Horse Ale (old). Next...

    Brewzilla 35l Gen 4

Gday @ozdevil I received mine on Friday as well and did my first brew this evening. For the life of me I couldn't figure the profile setting so did the job manually. I was brewing a batch based on the 1917 Reschs Dinner Ale recipe from Bronzed Brews. It called for a single infusion 70C for 70...

    High FG

Thanks Mark I paid particular attention to the mash temperature but I can't vouch for the calibration of the thermometer. I was concerned that the temperature was dropping too quickly in the esky I use as a mash tun. I added boiling water to bring it back up to temp at the 30 minute mark for...
