we have tended to swap and change servers over the years, currently the chat client built in to the website connects to irc.oz.org by default by far, the easiest way to join in the chat is to use telegram, there are desktop clients, phone clients etc... plus we have it linked to the irc channel...

its a really old freezer, it does the job well, id probably only recommend using it for fermenting, the seals are old and running it down to keg serving temp is pretty inefficient, ill get some photos/brand...

nah the urn works ok.... i was asking purely about the operaton of the reset button (whether its a tactile push button or pops out like a power board cutoff)..... was worried that if it *did* trip for whatever reason i may not be able to reset it....

i get that, but by adding (not substituting) dextrose, you're not removing any of the unfermentables, just adding more fermentables in to the beer..... the fact that ethanol has a lower SG than water makes sense though, im assuming this has the effect of lowering the overall final gravity...

I'm a little bit confused about people adding dextrose to "dry" out their beers. Surely, by my logic, adding dextrose will increase alc and leave the malt body as it is? To dry out i would think you would need to substitute some of the malt for dextrose? This is something that is written...

ive had these bottles (coopers pet) leak before..... went to lift a full box of them and the bottom of the box was soggy. I got rid of all mine and started using coke bottles, never had a leak. There is something not quite right about serving your beer from a coke bottle though....
