Equipment For Sale Shed clean out - Pick up Wellington Point

Box of plastic Coopers bottles (about 40 I think). Make an offer Brew bench. This was built as part of a HERMS system I ran with a gas fired kettle. I made it out of steel angle and coated in black Cold Gal. Left side has a high output gas burner (can include the original burner stand...

The Brauduino (Matho’s Controller) Build/Advice/Question Thread

I'm looking to cut the existing temp sensor cable, and soldering the wires onto a new 3.5mm socket and jack (something like this: https://www.jaycar.com.au/3-5mm-stereo-line-socket/p/PS0134 and https://www.jaycar.com.au/3-5mm-stereo-plug/p/PP0130). This is so I can have a short cable length...

Rise Of The Brewing Machines - Craft Beer Lovers, Don't Be Afraid&

I really like the look of these. One thing I am wondering though is how do you ensure the section of piping (which is presumably 'internal' to the Brewie) between the kettle and the wort outlet is clean/sanitised before running the chilled wort out?

The Brauduino (Matho’s Controller) Build/Advice/Question Thread

Hi Sluggerdog - I had the same issue during my first mash, so I increased the integral term in the PID settings from 15 (as originally recommended in Lael's video - but as he said, the values will be dependent on your system) to 30 on my system. My increasing that value, I found it got to temps...

The Brauduino (Matho’s Controller) Build/Advice/Question Thread

Thanks a lot for the explanation James! I haven't tried to cause the scrambling issue with the case open yet (to see if it's related to the wiring being up close to the PCB). FYI - I'm using a March pump. A couple of pics of the wiring below: Let me know if you think I could make some...

The Brauduino (Matho’s Controller) Build/Advice/Question Thread

Thanks for the advice real_beer, much appreciated! I will try shortening some of the wiring and hopefully that will help. My 12V wiring could be trimmed a bit as it's quite long to allow the lid to sit beside the box, but the rest is pretty short already. I'll try it and see how it goes...

The Brauduino (Matho’s Controller) Build/Advice/Question Thread

Having a couple of issues, and wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same.... First is, I think I'm getting the "screen scrambling" due to EMI (?) when the pump switches (mentioned in Lael and James' wiring video). When it happens, a series if jibberish letters run across the display...

The Brauduino (Matho’s Controller) Build/Advice/Question Thread

This might help if anyone else is trying to mount the temp probe in-line......I picked up a brass plug from the big green shed for $2 and bored out the inside by about 1-2mm on a mates lathe, and drilled a 10mm hole through the top:

The Brauduino (Matho’s Controller) Buy thread

I measured the temp probe, and it's 16mm diameter at the base. The internal diameter of the 1/2 inch fittings I had laying around varied between about 13mm and just under 16mm....

The Brauduino (Matho’s Controller) Buy thread

I found the same thing (base of temp probe is too wide to sleeve inside a 1/2 inch fitting) - so I ordered one of these: https://store.brewpi.com/temperature-control/threaded-onewire-temperature-sensor Came to about $30 AUD inc. delivery (slowest shipping, untracked - so might take weeks/months...

The Brauduino (Matho’s Controller) Buy thread

I'd be interested in one......it might come in handy to be able to easily connect the Brauduino to a temp sensor which is installed in a T-piece on a HEX or vessel outlet.....

The Brauduino (Matho’s Controller) Buy thread

Thanks for the info guys - so the RTD probes are a no go with the Brauduino..... So, to get the temp probe which is included with the kit into a T-piece....I haven't seen the temp probe in the flesh (so I'm probably wrong here), but from the photo it looks like the threads are "on the back"...

A question to the electronics gurus out there! I have a couple of these RTD temp sensors from Auber Instruments used in my existing HERMS system: http://www.auberins.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=20_15&products_id=249 In my existing setup, the sensor is threaded into a stainless...
