    Urn refit

Think the silicon washer should be on the outside of the urn. If it's on the inside liquid can still leak via the the thread.

    iSpindel Digital Hydrometer

Maybe try another USB cable if you haven't already. If MD5 doesn't match then there is corruption / mismatch between the write and then the check read back

    iSpindel Digital Hydrometer

From the logs, looks like the firmware can't see a temperature sensor so never initializes properly. Could be dodgy sensor but more likely bad solder joint.

Keep getting redirected (on my phone)

Started seeing this occasionally yesterday on pc. Quick search and I found this blog https://peter.upfold.org.uk/blog/2013/01/15/cleaning-up-the-ip-board-url4short-mess/

    Repurposing Fermtroller as Brewpi

Thanks for the tip MastersBrewery. Had a quick look at fermtroller and it seems to use pin5. Did a quick change and rebuild, but no data coming back. Will have to dig a bit deeper. I'm a bit time poor at the moment... hence the slow/late reply but I'll keep on with this. Also have everything I...

    Repurposing Fermtroller as Brewpi

Still progressing this little project. RaspberryPi is loaded with brewpi now. Tried to upload the new firmware to the brewtroller using the brewpi scripts but that was a no go. In the end after a bit more reading and learning I installed the arduino IDE on the raspberry and uploaded the file...

    Repurposing Fermtroller as Brewpi

Thanks for your interest and replies. I've ordered an Arduino Uno. Meanwhile I've installed Atmel Studio, downloaded the Sanguino plugin, configured the brewpi arduino firmware (removed the encoder and display from the build) and managed to build the system. Next step is to try and upload to the...

    Repurposing Fermtroller as Brewpi

Hello to all. Came across the Brewpi setup in my readings recently and thought it looked like an interesting toy. I already have a RaspberryPi sitting in a corner unloved as well as a working Fermtroller box (also unloved and out of work)based on the brewtroller board v3.3. I was thinking that...

    Keg King Style Balancing

Hi Whatwhat, I have one of the KegKing jobs and found that "set to 4" doesn't actually mean the beer temp will be 4. I had to set mine at 0 and it still wasn't actually 4C when I did a check measure. I did the temp mod (resistor in parallel with sensor) to 'recalibrate' the sensor and put a...

    Evolution Of A Brewery

Absolutely dying to move the brewery and workshop to their new location. Hence the dedication to the project.

    Evolution Of A Brewery

The other project monopolising my time. It is brewing related... honest.

    Evolution Of A Brewery

Well, it's been quite a while since I updated this thread, but the good news is the evolution continues. The bad news is that another LARGE project has been monopolising my time and I haven't had much spare time for the brewery or brewing. Also, more bad news, I've been guilty of impulse buying...

    Ahb Articles: Kegerator

Hi tonesbrew, unless the two sensors have the exact same resistance and the same Temperature/Resistance curve, this won't work. But of course, you may be lucky and they may be exactly the same. :) Would be nice though if it was. @mikec - Pre resistor mod - If I set mine to zero it will operate...

    Ahb Articles: Kegerator

I got mine from Jaycar. Actually bought both sizes. They came in packs of 6 (from memory)... 90c total

    Ahb Articles: Kegerator

I got one of the Keg King kegerators before christmas. Same problem as above. Set to zero but actual temp was around six. Spoke to Kee of Keg King and he was kind enough to send me details of a simple mod to 'adjust' the sensor reading. Place a resistor in parallel. Worked for me. :D See...

    Leaking Braumeister

Thanks for the comments / advice. Should add that this is not a new purchase. I've had many excellent brews out of the device so far and I'm more than happy with my impulse buy. I believe the problem to be 'normal wear and tear' and the result of pushing and pulling the element about when...

    Leaking Braumeister

Hi all, just wondering if anybody has experienced any leaking from their Braumeisters at all. Filled up my unit with the intention of brewing today and noticed a few drips coming from underneath. Traced it to water running down the power cable from one side where the element is plumbed in. Not...

    Keezer Power Usage?

Just out of interest I placed a similar meter on the fridge/freezer units I have here. It was during the recent Perth heat wave so some nice warm weather and the units had plenty of use... doors opening and closing, cold beer out, warm beer swapped in. Afraid I only have the $ value. Keg King...

    Help, Leaing From Tap Tower.

I had beer leaking from inside my Keg King kegerator font from day one. As described by others, the 'cap' on top of the font just pulls off with a bit of twisting/pulling. I found the beer line had split where it was pushed onto the tap. Couldn't figure out how to get a spanner of any sort onto...

    Fermentation Fridge A Turd

Had this exact problem with one of my fridges a couple of weeks ago. Fridge slowly lost all cooling ability but freezer worked fine. Turned out the defrost timer on mine had given up the ghost and so the fridge wasn't cycling through the defrost stage. This meant that because ice was gradually...
