    What are you listening to

There is a great version of Neil Young's Cortez the Killer on the YouTube, by Dave Matthews Band featuring Warren Haynes on guitar. Super version, runs for 17+ minutes :)

    Belgian Saison

It amazes me that none of the micros have really gone full throttle on the style. I reckon it's pretty much ideal for Brisbane weather. I hope to do my first saison in Jan when I get back from hols.

    Melbourne Bars Around Collins St

+ lots for Penny Blue. Nice atmosphere and on Monday night only a handful of people sampling a very good range of beers. I had the Holgate Temptress, very nice. They also had a Wit on the hand pump, the only beer I found served at the right temperature. Unfortunately I ran out of time to...

    Melbourne Bars Around Collins St

At late notice, I'm off to Melbourne Sunday for work, back Wednesday night. I'll be staying at Oaks on Collins, 480 Collins St. Do any Vics have advice on decent bars within walking distance of the hotel? I've been to Beer De Luxe at Fed Square before so I'm aware of that one. Thanks in advance.

    Rye Beer With Ginger

Rye APA :icon_drool2: You could try either a ginger syrup or infuse some grated ginger and add that to a glass and see how it tastes.

    Coriander And Camomile Tea

I added: 55g zest (2 oranges + 1 lime) in the whirlpool. Tasting the wort, the lime lingers nicely. 10g coriander in the cube. I pitched 3944 Belgian Wit yeast this morning. I did a taste test with the comomile and plan to go with 7g flowers infused in about 300ml of boiling water for 5...

    Coriander And Camomile Tea

Thought I'd resurrect this thread rather than start a new one. I've got my Wit in the cube at the moment. I plan on adding 7g camomile at kegging by doing a 3 minute hop tea with my coffee plunger. When I've done hop teas I've never been concerned about introducing baddies to my beer, but...

Timing Of No Chill Wit Spice Addition

you mean no spices or orange peel at all? This is a pretty lightly hopped style, so do you change the hopping to compensate? Cheers.

Timing Of No Chill Wit Spice Addition

I have assembled a vast menagerie of grains and spices and soon will enter the Mysterious World of Wit. So a question for you No Chill Wit Brewers, the spices are usually added late in the boil, is it better to add to the cube or keep it in the kettle? My current thinking is to add coriander...

    Blandford Fly

One of my favourites when I was living in Blighty. If anyone knows where you can get this in BrisVegas let me know. I believe the story with the ginger is that it is meant to repel the Blandford Fly, hence the name of the beer. Rod.

    Qabc 2011 Results

Mustn't grumble and all that but mine must be on the same boat! Petrie is upriver from Redcliffe so let me know when you get yours, then I can time their arrival on the high tide. I'm almost hoping the AABC results come in before QABC.

I was lucky enough to have a pre-dinner blackbeard last night and it was very enjoyable. Great flavour and aroma. :icon_drool2: Really showed me how far I have to go with my IPA.
