    Free fridge - VIC

Giving away my old fermenter fridge. It's a heavy Kelvinator fridge and fits two 30L plastic fermenters in there. Collect from Thomastown. Am moving to Tassie on Monday so ideally need to hear back from anyone interested before Friday morning in case I need to get some scrap guy to pick it up.

    Warning! (leaving Fresh Wort Out)

Are you going to ferment it out completely and taste it? You may have stumbled on the holy grail! :super:

    Galaxy Hops, Fresh Or Earthy?

I've put galaxy in my "treat with respect" hop category with chinook and simcoe. Can be OD'd! A very recent experience with galaxy we noticed some funky "stinky socks" aroma before and after brewing but the flavours were pure awesomeness and didn't notice any yeasty or metallic flavours.

    Galena Hops

Maybe try an english pale and dump a bunch in at 15minutes to do all the bittering and flavour and then a little bit more for aroma. A while ago I bought a kg of brewers gold. Got reading on here and the good word was Crouch Vale so I made my version without trying it and refined it for another...

    Galena Hops

The only thing that springs to mind is Corona. I'm sure it can be used for good as opposed to evil as well though. :P

    Using My Home Grown Hops

Not really experienced but using high AA% hops for bittering and accidentally overdoing it is one of my specialties that I'm trying to curb. I'm assuming you'll be using POR as your bittering addition. I'd probably throw in 110% of hops normally used and see how it goes. 300g of 10% as...

Bringing Hops From Overseas In Baggage

Depending on what hops and much of them you want it might be just as easy to buy locally or from the US. Prices are good at the moment compared to a while back (not sure how long you've been up there).

    Little Creatures Next Single Batch

I've now tried the EKG and really wanted a bit more EKG flavour. It's a nice english PA but didn't deserve the title. Probably should have just called it an english pale ale. Maybe a bottle thing and may be different from the keg? It was very easy to drink but probably won't spend the cash on...

How Many Of Us Does This Describe?

On Andre the Giant... Modern Drunkard is the biz. Thanks for the intro Incider! FWIW - whoever thought HFA was worthy of even thinking about has some issues to deal with. I'll drink through mine!

    2010 Hop Plantations

Last year was a major disappointment - my 2yo cascade was cooked by consecutive 40ish days just as it budded which resulted in only 6 reasonable flowers - the first year before it actually gave me enough for one 19L batch which I still rate in my top 5. This year I have a bumper crop...

Yeast - check Saphir - check Carabohemian - ba-bow Haven't used it before so not sure how to substitute for it. Can get caramunich 2 and caraaroma locally. Tony, any suggestions would be great mate?

    Motueka/amarillo Lager

Tony's LCBA clone is really good and with my first crop of home grown cascade flowers was one of my all time faves. I give a big thumbs up for this one too - (link not working for me - must be too retarded already). Here's the URL for Tony's B Saaz Amarillo...

    RecipeDB - Bulls Head Oktoberfest

The 8 weeks put me off because I'm comparing it to 12-14 days from cooking to drinking for most of my beers. My keg fridge only has room for 3 cornies. I made a pils - pitched starter at 18deg into 18 deg wort and put in temp controlled fridge - fermented at 10 deg for 12days upped it to...

    RecipeDB - Bulls Head Oktoberfest

Cool! I'll have to snavel some of that and some saphir then. I'm a lager noob - only lagered once - 8 weeks between cooking it up and drinking it put me off doing it again for over a year. Did you "follow the rules" or take a bit of a short cut somehow?

I just noticed one of the current Wyeast specials is 2487 Hella Bock and this looks the business to buy it for. Was that the one you used Tony?
