    Chest freezer not getting cold

So it looks like my keezer is dieing. It's a F&P slim model, had it for about 10 years only used as a keezer. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that it was running near constantly and not getting to the set temp. Does this sound like it's a slow gas leak problem?

    Brewing scales

Thanks to fly buys for my new brewing scales. The larger platform does up to 10kgs, 1gram res, and the smaller one 200g with a .1g res. There's no way I'd spend the asking price for them, around the $100 mark, but when my wife showed me how many points we've accrued over the years it was good...

    Hottest pitching temp for WPL800

What would be the hottest temp that this strain of yeast could survive if pitching in warm wort? I've seen some info on us-05 being pitched at 30c and it still ferments, but with this being a colder working yeast does it make a difference, or will it still survive and ferment whilst bringing...

    Grain tub

Just picked up a couple of these from the big green shed. $24 each. Won't hold a 25kg sack but being food grade, sealable screw top lid and stackable is good enough for me.

    Thanks to fellow AHB member.

Just wanted to say a thank you to Pnutapper who did me a massive favour without wanting anything in return. I know for you it doesn't seem like you did much, but your generosity was really appreciated. Next time I'm in Melbourne I'll do my best to try an meet up. Thanks again mate.

    C02 gas hose

Has anyone used or know if this type of gas hose is available in Australia? I asked at pirtek but they had nothing like it. https://www.kegoutlet.com/hose-gas-hose-red-5-16-id-9-16-od.html Looks like it's more flexible than the gas line we can get here so it would go better in my keezer that...

Anyone used their mini keg on it's side?

Anyone used their mini keg on it's side? Just asking because the 3.78L size would go nicely laying down on the shelf in fridge inside the house, then I wouldn't have to walk up to man's land to get another beer. I was thinking that the silicone tubing with a SS barbed joiner would keep it on...

    Celli tap fitting

Hi all, I've been trying to find fitting to attach my celli tap straight onto MFL quick disconnect. It's for a mini keg setup so I want to avoid tubing. JG don't make a fitting that will do this. As you can see from the attached photo, they have the connectors I need but in two separate...

    C02 Leak

Hi all, I have a C02 leak somewhere and can't find it with the spray bottle with detergent in it. When I turn off the gas and I have the disconnect disconnected, the gas leaks out after about 1hr. The high pressure gauge drops to zero but the low pressure will hold pressure for about 2 days. I...

    Who Uses Bronco Taps?

Hi all, Whilst searching for info about setting up my first keg I came across this thread from TB, http://www.aussiehomebrewer.com/forum/inde...ic=30983&hl Very clever idea there TB :beerbang: . I've had my keg on the gas for a week now set at 80kpa. Did a test pour with the short black...

    Milling For Steeping

I'm been doing a few extract brews with some steeping of grain to get a better result (which is working a treat). But what I haven't been able find is any info on what setting is better to crack the grain on for steeping. I'm just using a mates mill which is set at 1mm for his AG setup, but I...

Making A Starter With Saflager S23

I've just made an extract lager brew and while I am waiting for the wort to cool (sitting at 29c as I type) I thought I'd check out the yeast (saflager S23) to double check the fermentation temp. Then I thought I'd triple check on here, and that's when I read that for a lower pitching temp, 15c...

    Recipe Query

Hi All, I've been reading lots of info on this site as I'm just starting to get into HB. I tried a customers HB one day and was quite impressed. He gave me the recipe and I want to try it out. I'd like to point out at this time that I did not come up with this recipe or technique, this is what...
