    Advice for a rookie

    I pull the airlock out and cover the hole with duct tape when i cold crash, never had an issue. Failing that, find the longest piece of blowoff tube you can and run that, it'll only pull the starsan so far before equalizing

    If you were to brew that lager, now would be the best time as they prefer the cold temps, around 12c for lager yeasts and 19c for ales, so if you've got a constant cold spot in your house, it'll make a huge different in the outcome, steady temp is key.     First all grain brew done, a few follow up questions.

    Have done 7 brews on my gen3, havent made a mess yet, i start the boils at 28-29L. The initial "boil over" is the hot break, watch the first 10-15 min carefully, watch it rise a little and just flick both elements off for a sec and let it settle out, then turn them back on again. Watch it...
