    Matho's controller

That black chip that you've circled is a voltage regulator. I'm guessing that's getting hot because there is too much current being drawn through it. If it only happens when the shield is attached, then it's probably because something on the shield is drawing too much current. Maybe something...

Hooking up a Soda Stream machine to a 6kg C02 bottle

So a Type 30 regulator will screw loosely onto a CGA320 bottle, but not the other way around? If it is a CGA320 regulator, I won't be able to screw it onto Type 30 bottle? The regulator I have seems to fit the bottle and makes a good seal, but I never really paid close attention to it. I'll...

Hooking up a Soda Stream machine to a 6kg C02 bottle

I could do that, but I would also need to change the regulator to match the valve. It's an old bottle, I haven't checked the date stamp on it but it might not be in test any more. I'm starting to think I would be better off saving my money for a brand new bottle. The price of bottles has come...

Hooking up a Soda Stream machine to a 6kg C02 bottle

Thanks for the answer. I'm in Perth. My gas bottle is an older one which used to be part of a swap and go bottle exchange program. I don't think the company that does the exchanges is around any more, so I just get it refilled at the local brew shop instead. Not sure why they used CGA320 bottles...

Kegbot (flow meter and digital taplist) project

I just noticed this thread. I was wondering if maybe using load cells connected to an Arduino to measure the weight of the keg would be more accurate/easier to use than the flow rate sensors? It would require building little individual weighing platforms for each of the kegs to sit on. There's...

Hooking up a Soda Stream machine to a 6kg C02 bottle

I'm guessing this adapter works with the Type 30 gas bottles that you sell. Do you have one that will work with a CGA320 gas bottle?

Carbonating with the "Ross Method" and a set of precise electronic brewing scales

I've tried this method, except I put the CO2 bottle on the scales, tared it and then measured the weight loss as the CO2 transferred into the Keg. It lets you keep track of the CO2 in 'real time' as you're rocking and rolling the keg, but you need to have something to support the CO2 tube near...

BIAB- gonna have a go , need gear

That 50L stainless one from Tentworld looks the goods. I might put one on back order. They say they're out of stock until mid May :(

BIAB- gonna have a go , need gear

I've recently started doing BIAB brewing. I'm currently using a 25L stockpot and can squeeze out 22L batches, I've been adding extra water as it boils down. However it does boil over the top a bit and make a mess on the stove top so I was looking for something bigger. Maybe one of these pots...
