    Why 3.8ABV%?

How do you work out home or extra things need to be added and how that will effect the gravity? Is it just doing it a lot or do I need to study some books?

    Why 3.8ABV%?

Wow you guys know your stuff! A lot of that went over my head but I really want to learn and understand. What I can take away from a single read over is that 1.011 for our pale ale is a good finish and will have a good mouth feel and taste? Next time we do this we need to add 450grams of...

    Why 3.8ABV%?

Cheers Mark, Just to make sure I understand correctly the ABV% we GoT is within the expected range? If we had have used a 1kg instead of the enhancer we would have had a stronger beer?

    Why 3.8ABV%?

So yeast isn’t great in those kits? Could it be the enhancer not having enough sugar?

    Why 3.8ABV%?

Hey all, Last night we did our hopefully second last test on our brew with the result of 1.011. Our original starting gravity was 1.040. With the brew tracker app the calculations came out to be 3.8 abv %. Can anyone help us understand why our brew came out a mid strength? Coopers Pale Ale malt...

    Kilkenny clone...help!

Hey all, Just about to finish up our first home brew and looking to create a stout. We would like to brew something similar to a Kilkenny with that creamy texture and creamy head. As we are only new we do not have a kettle and currently using malt extract, brew enhancer and adding extract hops...

Thanks Mark! Hopefully our beer works out. I did a gravity test today and will do hopefully final one on Saturday before we bottle. Seems to have come out weak [emoji22]. 1.040 starting and currently 1.011 which is about 3.8% [emoji22].

    No Rinse Sanitizer

That’s what I thought but the guy at the local brew shop had no idea what I was talking about [emoji22]. We have a power sanitizer but you have to rise after and we were worried about cross contamination.

At the moment no towel or anything but do you think that’s what we need to do? I am worried the temp variance and changing so much isn’t going to be good for our beer.

Thank you for the warm welcome. It is the coopers yeast. Currently the fermenter is at my mates house doing its thing. He messaged me this morning to tell me that the temps dropped overnight to 18 degrees. The heater is plugged in and turned on but seems that it isn’t heating, is this normal?
