Max temp for KL bucket buddy

Hey guys, I have a bucket buddy. Love it for Belgians and other warmer fermented beers. Anyone know what the max temp you can get out of it? It’s only a 36w element. I’ve comfortably fermented 25c in winter in the garage, but keen to see how high it will maintain.

    La sirene reserve saison

Damn, this is a nice beer! Tart sour and funky but not to the extreme, very very nice

    Fantome dark white

Grabbed a bottle down at berry ( epic bottle shop if $$ is no object lol ! ). Pretty damn nice, a little milder than I’d expected but really easy to drink. Amber coloured saison, medium bodied and nice fruit without bring over the top.

    Making sausages, any tips?

I busted out the mincer yesterday and did my first batch of sausages. Made some bratwurst. Was thinking it'd be a total disaster but other than a huge mess so far they look good. I'll cook them tonight on the weber.

Brown malt always gives harsh flavour

So, with my dark grains, for the last 5 years or so I've always added them late in the mash. Love the smoothness of the flavour, and always works well with all dark malts. Except brown malt and amber malt. I like beers like Fullers porter with brown malt but always when I use Amber or brown, I...

    Father's Day plans?

I'll be brewing a porter in the morning. Then cranking up the weber with a lamb roast ( 3 beers just to start it :) ), then getting the fire pit going in the evening. And I'll send pics of the roast to my dad hehe How bout you ?

    Flogged yet again

Well, as a rugby league fan and nswelshman, that familiar feeling is back haha. We had nothing and were totally outplayed, outclassed, outmuscled. Qld were brilliant. I think what happened to cam smith was disgraceful ( did it need to be aired right before origin? ), and he showed what...

    First 100% brett c beers

Hey guys, I've done a few funky and sour beers, but never brewed with just Brett. I've got a peated porter going right now with Brett c, and starting a starter for an IPA with Brett c. Both beers are around 1.060, and both will get a 2.5 litre starter on the stir plate for 36 hrs. From...

Berlinner weisse. A cube full of spew?

Ok, so I tried to brew my first berlinner. Mashed as normal, the left the BIAB bag in the kettle, and the next morning i pitched wyeast lacto 5335. I put the heatbelt on, as it normally keeps my fermentors at 30-32. But, maybe being a ss keggle, after 2 days I checked and it was only 26 :(...

Sour cherry syrup, add to keg?

I came across this today, grabbed it on the hunch that I could use it in the keg. Was thinking of a plain 50/50 pils wheat grist, 4%, 20 ibu's and wb06. Then add some of this to the keg. It's sweet but sour, so might be a bit of a novelty beer for parties etc, and to get the missus drunk :)...

    Square fermentor idea/experiment.

I brew a lot of uk ales. A lot of reading suggests that the shape of the fermentor has an effect on the flavour of the beer, as well as an open fermentation. I'm thinking of trying a cheap storage tub and doing an experiment. My only concern is the material, it's co polymer polypropylene. I plan...

A whole bottle of D2 in a single batch. Too much?.

I'm planning a beire de garde brune, and I was going to add half a bottle of D2 to it. Then I thought, why not the whole bottle?. It works out at less than 13% of total fermentables, and a beire de garde can handle a bit of sugaz, so why not. Thought I'd ask if anyone had done this??

Anyone used wlp American farmhouse ?

Hey guys, I saw a thread here not long ago where someone mentioned this yeast was good for reasonably quick turnaround funky beers. Anyone used it care to share their experience?. I need some more funk.

    Hop tea for sleeping?. How?

So I'm in a leg splint. Got another month to go. I'm a side sleeper hardcore but I'm restricted to flat on my back, which is really affecting my sleep. Not really keen on sleeping tablets for a month, do I thought about hop tea. Supposedly good to assist sleeping, and I have some hop flowers...

    Toasted quick oats mmmmm

A few weeks ago I toasted some quick oats. I'm using them today in a Belgian pale ale, and although I only used 140g, the mash is smelling wonderfull!!. Hopefully it'll translate over into the final beer. Only used 3% of the grist so I didn't bother with a cereal mash, just in the main mash.

3724 almost done after 4 days, it didn't stall?

So due to my recent infatuation with saison, I'm trying 3724 for the first time. Pretty much expected to wait 3 or 4 weeks at least to hit fg. I took a sample today and it's down to 1.012. I pitched the smack pack without a starter ( normally make a starter but it swelled quickly, and hey, it's...

    NYE drinks thread

My beer cartel order came in today. Sweet!. I've also got a homebrewed Belgian IPA, a keg of saison, and a keg of Riwaka hopstand Maris otter smash. Not having a big one as I have a traditional early morning beach side appointment tomorrow pre dawn.

Weird change in beer taste lately

So, I've recently started liking sour and funky beers. But at the same time, I've also been enjoying different mega swill type beers. Xxxx gold for one, and currently sipping on a Hahn premium, which, admittedly I bought for a Christmas catch up tomorrow with mostly non home brew drinkers. It's...

Playing with brett without extra equipment.

I'm a total noob with funky and sour beers, but am getting right into them. I was setup to keg a saison the other week and got thinking it'd be good to try some of it with brett, as I've seen lots of positive reviews about brett and saison. I didn't really want to sacrifice one of my fermentors...

Sour brewers can you check my process for first lambic?

Ok, I'm keen to take the train into funk town. My main concern is storing temperature of the carboy ( I plan on getting a better bottle ). My garage is where it'll be stored, so summer it could get to mid or maybe high 30's. I was thinking of brewing it in say, march, that way, for most of...
