    all grain recipe packs

I would go the Mr Simcoe again, it was pretty decent. But Philrob and MHB have given you the best tip of looking at Brewman's recipe builder. This is what I do now, I just brewed an Oatmeal Stout and American Wheat beer from that site.

    all grain recipe packs

I have tried a few of the Grainfather grain kits. The Mr Simcoe pale ale, Chur and the XPA. The Simcoe and Chur kits were a decent drop. Wouldn't go the XPA again but your tastes may differ. I used them because I had lucked into a window of time for brewing and my LHBS had them in stock...

    Wine taste in Lager

Hi All, After a bit of advice. I have been brewing a few FWKs lately and all have turned out well except my first crack at a lager. I have the All Inn Consequences Pale Lager kit fermenting atm the moment but it has a distinct wine taste and smell to it. The process I have used to ferment is as...

    Byron Bay Brewery

It's happening all over the area. I guess they have to make a buck to stay afloat. Do you have any more information about who is opening the brewery?

    Byron Bay Brewery

I agree it’s an absolute tourist trap but it does have its moments. Living here is great due to access to the beaches and just the general outdoor active lifestyle. Housing prices are disproportionately high. We experienced the same thing as Good4whatAlesU. Rock up to an auction and the first...

    Byron Bay Brewery

that does seem steep but I feel this is typical of the pubs in (a tourist) town. The food is decent and reasonably priced at the Suffolk Park Tavern. Not a huge range of beer standard Coopers and one or two craft brands. I have not been out there in a while what did they have on tap?

    Long time Lurker

Awesome, I was thinking of getting a drink cooler to turn into a mash tun but I think I should just concentrate on getting my process down. I have used brewer's friend to scale recipes down. Any recommendations for a SMaSH to try?

    Long time Lurker

Hi good4whatAlesU, Thanks for the welcome. I am doing BIAB using a big w stock pot at home, have done a few batches but my water levels seem to differ every batch. What sort of boil off are you getting in your stock pot? Also, are you getting recipes from the database on this site then...

Bribie, thats a generous offer i'd be glad to take up, thanks. I will send you a PM to organise a time. I have actually never been out that way so couple of birds with one stone! :bigcheers: I have used craftbrewer and national homebrew before found no issues with either. but its good to get...

    Long time Lurker

I have already got a 12l fermenter but doubt I can go much bigger due to living/storage constraints. I guess I can go ask about at the Piggery and Stone & Wood for some tips. Maybe once I have more experience under the belt.

Aussie Summer temps in Qld ......

Cheers, oh well was worth asking. Will keep an eye out for a mill but I think I will just resort to buying online (premixed and crushed) rather than at LHBS in Lismore. Fridges look good, im sure my wife will approve /s

    Long time Lurker

Hi All, Been on the site for a while now mostly just reading up. Have been brewing for a few months now. Did a couple of kits then jumped straight to all grain. I only have a small set up at home (5L soon to be 10L batches). BUt also brew with a mate where we are doing 20l batches. I am based...

Aussie Summer temps in Qld ......

Bribie, What brand/model are those fridges? I also notice you have a NutriRocket in that photo, do you use it to crush grain? I have 2kg of grain to be crushed which I thought I would be able to do myself sans a grain mill (rolling ping method) but if that NutriRocket is decent I think I know...
