    Dead Ssr

Then if it is a problem I suggest you buy your SSR's from a distributor who can give you a detailed spec sheet and pay top dollar for the privilege. Virtual Village as AFAIK is a UK marketing operation of over supply stock with little info on what it sells other than what the manufacturer may...

    Dead Ssr

To my mind EMI (electro magnetic interference) is a none advent. My computer would probably put out more EMI than a standard SSR. I agree that around sensitive equipment EMI must be kept to a minimum. Any equipment with oscillatory circuits contained therein usually contain snubber circuits...

Not sure what you mean or do mean switching transients. From what I can remember of zero crossing in my days at TAFE electronic trades a long time ago Zero crossing in SSR's were to switch and latch a triac on at the zero point of the supply thus not needing continuous DC at the input of the...

    Nickb's Bar

Yeah and aren't they a right ******* when you want to build something on them like a shed or a house. Nice going there Nick I like to do a bit of carpentering myself and do a reasonable job. (looks at ground and shuffles feet) Looking forward to see the finished job I need...

    Dead Ssr

I have been using these from Virtual Village on ebay and run them at 2400W they are bolted direct to the inside of a PVC cabinet and they only run warm and never hot. If the ambient temperature is high in their enviroment then more adequate heat sinking would...

    For Sale: Complete Brewing Setup

I know of a fifty litre pot still, complete with heat exchanger made out of a redundant hospital sterilizer that I was a party to, floating around Auckland somewhere. Now I said I was a party to, and I didn't say I was in possession of, or operated it. :D

Tony you can monitor the temperature back into the Tun by a simple addition of a MM temp gauge S/s a T piece and a reducer as the thread on the short probe version of the MM is smaller. All up a shade over fifty bucks. :icon_cheers:

    Chilling My Ag

G'day Woody Like Adelaide we do get the hot northerlies now and again here but rare. I lived and worked in Adelaide for a short time and spent a pleasant summer there relaxing the odd weekend on Maslin beach with my girl. The Tassie sun in summer is fierce and the UV is high and not good for...

    Chilling My Ag

Well I suppose living in the deep south has its advantages. Our tank water is fairly stable 18-20C most of summer. Nights chill down to around 11-14C so ambient in workshop is around 18-20 with both doors open and a breeze blowing through. I can drop temps from just below 100C in boiler to...

With one of these, or a triac circuit as in a motor speed controller or a light dimmer. <_<

    Filling Hlt With Garden Hose?

I use a good quality garden hose from tank water to fill my HLT which the inlet is two metres above the ground without any adverse effect. This is a dedicated hose for just this purpose after having a couple of infection problems due to my son using my brewery hose off a dam water tap...

    Fully Automated Brewing System Design

I couldn't agree more. I went through the same process couldn't see the point of it all as it achieved very little except to bolster ones ego at enormous financial expense. :icon_cheers:
