    US04

04 will attenuate less than 05, as is stated on the fermentis fact sheets. This has always been the case when I've used it at home and commercially. Quite possibly you're picking up a combination of more residual malt sweetness on the nose as well a few more esters from the 04, perhaps leading...

    Re-using yeast from last ferment

For those repitching, the slurry calculator on mr maltys yeast calc has always been a great reference point for how much to re pitch with when at home. I've used it many times with few adverse effects.

    Wood Fired Brewery

For what it's worth I stopped frequenting regularly a while back. I do try and re-visit every now and then hoping that a good vibe will return but I think I'm living in the past. I do however feel greatful for being able to see the evoltuion of home brewing with a great group of helpful folks...

    Hazyness is NEIPA/Hazy IPAs

Don't forget alcohol is the biggest contributor to body in a beer so take that into consideration if you're brewing a 5-6% hazy and expecting it to taste like a double. Also consider lactose if you haven't already - some love it and others don't but it will definitely contribute to that...

4 Ring Burner + Stand + Wind Break

4 Ring Burner with stand and stainless steal sheet wind protector. Just needs a clean and adjustment on flame as per any of these units. Had for 5 years now, likely spent at least $250 on all this. Pick up Caufield Vic. $80 PM if interested.

    Motorised Grain Mill

Up for sale is this electric mill. A lot of work has gone into making this as evident by custom parts. Using a washing machine motor. Never really used it like I thought I would, still use my old mill with drill and stand. Really nice bit of kit. Asking $100, cheap when considering price of a...

    Melbourne Bjcp Exam

This is a grave dig and a half. Anyone have info on who to contact regarding BJCP in Melbourne? I've always been flat out when they've offered it in the South-east. Hoping to line it up in the near future if possible. Any info appreciated. Cheers

    Spike brewing conical fermenters unitanks

I use a 52L SS conical in a ferment fridge. Cost me $80 to buy a fridge that fit it. A couple of $10 reptile heat mats hanging on other side connected to your stc/inkbird and the jobs done. I could never and still can't get my head around why any homebrewer would want to spend that amount of...

    Whats In The Glass

Just did 80% pale, 10% raw wheat, 10% oats. Funnily enough when I brew it again I'll mash 1.5 degrees higher or add some light crystal. It was a tiny bit to dry for me and to style if I was to be picky. Otherwise it's an absolute cracker.

    Whats In The Glass

Not normally one for others recipes but brewed the “Average Perfect Northwest NEIPA” recipe with my new ss brewtech chronical. Pains me to say it but after brewing for over 12 years, this sits as the best home brewed beer yet. Recipe...

    Two Hearted IPA - Beersmith

It’s important to remember that due to this being a single hop beer, the quality of your hop is pretty much going to determine 80% of the beers profile, granted your sanitation, yeast and fermentation practices are sound. A common mistake for homebrewers is to follow the hop schedule to a T...

How much power can I draw with Portable Elements

That’s great advice Mark, appreciate that. Will check it out this evening and hopefully find myself two circuits close enough to my kettle. Thanks again for that. Cheers

How much power can I draw with Portable Elements

Lucky enough to come across 2 x Portable Elements, the 2400w/230Volt standard ones you see around. My very limited knowledge on electrical currents leaves me hesitant to run 2 of them at the same time. If possible I would run them off a standard 2 point outlet, each plugged into their own...
