I’ve searched, but half the problem is too much info! The keg is new

    Kegs Before ‘First Fill’

Hey All Having finally got my keezer to the point I can use the bloody thing, I want to make sure I have everything ready so I can decant the Saison bubbling away in the fermenter into the keg. So, what do I need to do to my keg and lines before I use it? If anyone can point me to a thread...

    Rors' Keezer Build

Mega late update. Been so lazy with this and didn’t do a great deal for a bit. It’s pretty much done, just need to insulate the collar (gonna use a car visor sunshade) and drill a hole for my temp controller. After that, just need to put beer in it!

    Rors' Keezer Build

Knocked up the inner collar tonight from some 130x35mm pine, which should leave me with a 10mm overhang as a lip onto the outside of the freezer. Needs a bit of sanding down due to me being a DIY novice, but should work fine. Current plan is to make a simple tip from marine ply that I'll paint...

    Rors' Keezer Build

There's going to be a 5mm air gap around the whole side of the freeze as the boards won't be attached to the freezer itself, and the cladding will also have gaps between the boards as I'm not a fan of the 'solid' look, I'm hoping that and it being outside will be enough. The back also won't be...

    Rors' Keezer Build

Thanks for that, good to hear someone has done something similar! I bought 140mm pine (I think) as I'm only planning on having 2 kegs and the CO2 bottle in there. I'm the only one drinking (plus visitors) so 2 kegs is plenty at this stage. I'm planning to build a lid into the collar rather than...

    Rors' Keezer Build

Cheers I've seen some F&P freezers online for cheap, but the hinges don't seem to suit turning into a keezer. The HiSense ones dropped nicely in the sales too so hopefully I can make a goer! I'm also going to try and make a frame to clad around so I can re-sell the chesty if I want to

    Rors' Keezer Build

Hi All! Done a few brews and pretty sick of bottli at this stage! Decided I wanted a bit of a project and, wanting to get into kegging anyway, I've decided to build a keezer. While I'm a complete novice with tools, I'm hoping this won't be too much hard work. I bought a cheap chesty from Hardly...

    BIAB vs Robobrew

Hey all I've run a few extract brews and I reckon I'm ready to take the plunge and go AG pretty soon, next brew hopefully. I'm pretty keen on a BIAB set-up, but the Robobrew keeps coming up as a viable (although more expensive) alternative, certainly for convenience. Any pros or cons to either...

    Name the bar

The Gym Offer memberships, call the bar staff 'Trainers' and when you get home and can't stand up straight tell them the trainers gave you more than you could handle. I've sounded people out on this before and I think I had the wrong audience. Also, Rorschach (TM)(C) etc. etc. etc.

    Help! Stuck Ferment?

Goddamit now I need to find a place to put a fridge. Had only just managed to wangle some room for a kegerator outside!

    Help! Stuck Ferment?

Thats probably down the list. Next will be a kegerator and getting into that, then a GF or similar and a fermentation fridge. This is still a fairly new hobby and as you can tell, I'm still feeling things out...

    Help! Stuck Ferment?

Thanks for that, useful info. Probably due to me taking a bit more care with my pitching/fermenting temperatures and going too far the other way...

    Help! Stuck Ferment?

Fair point. Not had one not kick off within 12 hours yet, so getting a bit touchy That was my thought as well. The stick on thermometer said it was bang in range, but I don't trust it 100%. Need to buy myself a proper thermometer at some point. I took it out of the bath and left it on my...

    Help! Stuck Ferment?

Slight density drop, but not sure yet if that's just the temperature difference from yesterday to today. Will check again tomorrow and confirm. Might just be a leak somewhere

    Help! Stuck Ferment?

I'll give the hydrometer a go before bed and see. I'm hoping that warming it up a bit would kick start it and I won't need to do anything...
