2 x corny kegs for sale- Melb

FYI, there are plenty of retailers with used cornys as low as $45 and $65 refurbished (posts, lid, seals etc). Unless your willing to able to give a guarantee that they are in excellent condition I would say your asking price is still too high.

    Summer Mid Strength Recipes

OK just realized what S&W is! Shouldn't be too hard to knock 1% of the total for something similar. I would take a basic clone recipe, most are almost (or all) pale and wheat. Switch the pale to Vienna and throw in some form of cara malt to bump your gravity and then use something like Windsor...

    Summer Mid Strength Recipes

I haven't tried either of those, but they do sound pretty similar to my post from before (XPA/session IPA) and was extremely impressed with the results. I've also brew quite a few mild ales including some using rye and oats to get the gravity up, along with English style, lower attenuating...

    Summer Mid Strength Recipes

From memory, when I put it together I was working off Bridge Road's Little Bling. But I found this a little watery and the malt gave more sweetness than backbone and balance for the bitterness, I've really moved away from traditional crystal malts recently, but this is my taste so it may not be...

    Summer Mid Strength Recipes

I made a session IPA this summer that came out quite well with a bunch of different Gladfield Malts (it was a bit of a leftover brew) - it came out at around 3.7% with plenty of body and flavour. OG: 1.040 FG: 1.011 IBUs: 38.5 85.5% Vienna 5.5% Gladiator 4% Biscuit 2% Toffee 1.5% Light Crystal...

    New research on dry yeast

I meant more how are you currently removing the Chlorine from your water? But one thing you did mention was your new pH meter - as well as removing the Chlorine from your water I would also take a look at your mash pH to make sure it's not too high.

    New research on dry yeast

Definitely sounds like a phenolic flavour. But keep in mind that there are other factors which can contribute to these flavours: Yeast (commercial and wild), bacteria, tannin from high mash pH or high sparge temps and even produced by algae in water storage before it gets to treatment (is it...

    New research on dry yeast

If you get your water from SE Water then (I'm fairly sure) they use Chlorination for disinfection so you can simply boil or leave your water to sit overnight to remove the free chlorine. Chloramines, produced by Chloramination are much harder to remove so campden tablets are a sound option when...

    New research on dry yeast

I think it's also worth noting (before this starts another argument) the difference between chloraminated and chlorinated water supplies. Chloramines (from chloraminated systems) are much harder to remove than free Chlorine and a large number of water authorities have moved to chloramination...

Yes...it's currently in my shed and full of beer :)

    Bulk Buy App

I actually work for an app dev. company (sort of). If there is a decent amount of interest I would happily help scope out some ideas and see how much work something would take to get built (on all platforms). I was thinking about something similar not to long ago, possibly including some sort...

    Hello

I once opened a stubbie of stout in the kitchen of rental unit. Fortunately the glass didn't explode but I could not believe the foam out of the top of the bottle. There was stout at least 3 meters from where I opened the bottle including on the ceiling and I must have spent two hours trying to...

    Hello

If it was from a kit/can I would be concerned that it hadn't finished fermenting properly, i.e. sugars not converted to alcohol. If this is the case you will want to watch out for any bottle bombs you may have created. It could also just be a result of the style of the kit or the sugar you used...

    First brew

Given that your bottling into a number of clear bottles it would probably be worthwhile keeping them somewhere dark if possible to avoid "skunking" your hard work: http://beersmith.com/blog/2017/03/21/skunky-beer-light-struck-off-flavors-in-home-brewing/

Keg King ROBOBREW 35L SINGLE VESSEL BREWERY

Also be careful not to run the pump dry, as it will run faster than a small volume of liquid can filter through the grain.

Keg King ROBOBREW 35L SINGLE VESSEL BREWERY

I regularly do 10L batches and have gone as low as 5L! Had to do a pretty thin mash and keep the wort circulating but no real problems other than a lower than average efficiency (usually somewhere between 55 & 65)
