    Est. dates, taking the piss.

An interesting article about how many NZ breweries are taking the piss with est. dates. Relates to the 'clearer labelling' thread: https://thebottleneck.net/2015/10/28/who-is-new-zealands-oldest-craft-brewery-draft-4/

    Inline sight glass (?)

Scored this bad boy from a retiring researcher who knew I was into brewing - impressive engineering. Looks like a big inline sight glass (pressure vessel?) - about 1 Litre capacity with an SS mesh at one end. The only thing on my system that runs at pressure is a serving line from the keg. I...

    Crazy American threads

so..am trying to get this amicon keg up and running but I'm having some difficulties with the threads. The post has some kind of weird 3/8 tapered thread (doesn't fit anything I can find), with a 7/16 unf male adapter. The ball lock posts I've ordered are 1/4 inch. I figure I need some kind of...

    What a week!

Our beautiful baby girl arrived last Wednesday afternoon! totally stoked! A good 7+ pounder of 53.5cm. But unfortunately she swallowed a bit of gunk on the way out and had to be resussed, during which one of her compromised little lungs blew out.. . . So.. a dozen people in the delivery room...

    Fumehood? - fumes from wort

    Tasmanian Maltsters

Just wondering if there are any Tasmanian maltsters and/or malt available to home brewers? Cascade claim on their website to source their grain from Tasmania? What malthouse do they use? JW appear to have an office in Davenport, but is it a malting plant? The Tassies certainly grow a large...

    Beach Hotel Byron

Mrs talked me into heading up to Byron today for lunch, I figure - okay lets go to the pub can't be that bad. Beauty, they've got a Balter pilsner on tap. I order one and it comes out looking a bit golden. That's a bit strange I thinks... Anyway, was a Carlton draught keg they've got hooked up...

Hi Guys, anyone have any experience with electric aquarium chillers? I'd like to control fermentation temp better but don't really have space for an extra stand alone fridge.
