The rosewater pretend essence from coles etc is crap. Get proper essence and youll know the difference. My missus makes her own skin products cause she gets lots of reactions from commercial stuff so we have lots of proper essences around that I can pinch when im cooking.

Absolutely great for summer as u said tim. Even if u serve a bowl of it instead of cream to have over berries or as a slant on traditional trifle or in a pav. Lots of ways to use it. Its like I love havinf pav with lemon curd. Just love it.

    Hop Dealz Australia

hops from yob are cheap, compact etc so they make a great stocking filler. Just make the missus knows to take them out of the freexer just before u get up and then she can put them in ur stocking. Then get on with making breakky and coffee (ducks for cover)

    Sillabub

Middle eastern syllabub is better imo. Nice spice hits to counter the richness of the cream. I use nigellas turkish syllabub or variations of and its always a hit. Esp with good authentic turkish or greek coffee 12 tbsp Cointreau, (approx 175ml) 2 lemons, juice only 8 tbsp caster sugar...

Since we are talking anchovies the Colomba brand anchovy in sunflower oil from coles or aldi are great. Really nice texture and flavour. I use quite a lot of them in cooking for extra complexity and saltyness. They just melt down and make great flavours.

    Pizza

capricosa rocks. Anchovies have to be hood. Those pox ones u get from store bought pizza places are shit. Gross texture and flavour imo. Atta flour sounds good. I used normal wholemeal flour the other night and its a bit of a pain becuase of the course texture. Will try it.

yeah u can. I used a press to get the shape then used a rolling pin. The aluminum press isnt heavy enough to squeeze the dough out enough. A cast iron one would be a lot faster than rolling is all

    Pizza

Even just pimping a jar of passata is easy. Throw in fresh herbs garlic etc and ur laughing. Buy hiding veg in sauce is good. With burtitos etc I cook down blitzed mushrooms and zucchini and the mix into the mince to hid it.

    Pizza

My pizza sauce is always thin not thick. Slightly thicker than passata is ideal for me persinally but passata thickness is also acceptable. I agree that thick sauce makes it feel stodgy. Even with a margareta you you want to taste some fresh tomato not tomato base sauce.
