Further: when there is a highly commended and no 1st place what conclusion am I to draw from this? If there is only 2nd place listed and no 1st what is the deal?

    Pirate life iipa

Fixin to BIAB this on the weekend. I've definitely deviated from the stated grains; decided to go with a bit of light crystal and carared. The plan is to shift a lot of hop additions to the last 5-10mins and whirlpool, using the big 4 stated on the can. I will go heavy on the dry hop with...

    Dubble trubble

I had my quad throw its guts up for at least a day (I assume) while I was at work and I still managed to salvage it with a blow-off tube, still fermented 1.096 down to 1.019 so it should still have some pep in it if it hasn't already smashed it completely

    Rochefort 10, Westveletern 12

I'm no expert but when starting all grain a quad was number 1 on my list of styles to brew. I went with White Labs trappist blend (575). I used a lot of Special B and dumped muscovado sugar during primary fermentation. This thing went gangbusters after 12hrs (crash course in blow-off tubes), and...

    Hello from Brisbane brew newb

Hi all, Just wanted to pop in and say hey. I started brewing a couple of months ago; I should've started soooooo long ago but hey I got there in the end. A friend put me on to BIAB and I haven't looked back. 8 brews under my belt so far. I'm a big Belgian dark ale fanboy, but I'll give any...
