    All Grain Supplies

The Tooborac pub beer has come a long way since your post in 2012 Edgecliff. I live close by and brew heaps, not AG though. And Heathcote now has only 2 pubs!

    New to the area

I think a few things go on from time to time in Bendigo but I haven't as yet been involved. I live about 45 min south east of Bendigo, near Tooborac. Probably an hour away from Sandon, not that close but closer than Melbourne. We have a nice little brew pub here in town which is handy though I...

    Drying Home Grown Hops

I dried my last small crop on kitchen trays but they were layered thin, not piled up high and the trays were kept in the lounge up high on top of furniture. They were dried out in 5 days or so and were great, all brewed now and all drunk! I did say it was a small crop!

    Hopslist has launched!

Well I got rhizomes from a neighbor 4 years ago and grew them all here in Central Victoria and they were Columbus, cluster, Hall Hersh, Cascade and Victoria. Victoria was the only one that grew well in out acidic hostile soils but do you think I could find anything about this variety here on the...

    375ml Glass Bottles

I have a pile of kegs and most of my beer goes in there but I like to have a few bottles ready for a visit to a small party or day visit to the bush. Thus I have maybe 100 bottles. My fave is the 500ml German wheat beer bottle, or similar and occasionally I will fill a few long necks. Coopers...

    Fake Aussie Lager Recipe Suggestions

No but the German word for lager means to store and, well these things are brewery fresh as they say with Carlton Draught now on telly so they are not made like a lager is supposed to be made, only they have used a bottom fermenting yeast but that's about all. I guess you could call a VB a lager...

    Fake Aussie Lager Recipe Suggestions

I mean would you really call a VB West end, XXXX or Tooheys or anything similar a lager?

    Coopers To Change Bottle Supplier

I have a few coopers long necks in my mixed bag of beer bottles. Sure they are great, much better than some lightweight twist top. I prefer the older long necks though for bottling my beer, and they are free. I'm talking old VB bottles or John Courage or the like. It's funny when you find...

    2010 Hop Plantations

Well they look like some great plants to me. I'm growing hops for the first time thanks to a friend who got me a few rhizomes of different varieties. The Hallertau Hershbrucker and cascade plants are in the ground and I have wire along the front of the house so they have about 8 meters to grow...

    Victoria Hops

Or.........just wait till I get a crop and try it for myself. The cascade with the roo under it is really growing now with the warm weather as it has been real slow so far.

Can I Increase Abv With Extra Priming?

I know someone who used to double prime his old VB stubbies but only fill them to 3/4. It will up the ABV by maybe .5% and when he twisted off the tops they hit the ceiling of any party with a bang!! I'd be scared though having them rattle around in the back of the car on the way to the party.
