I dried my last small crop on kitchen trays but they were layered thin, not piled up high and the trays were kept in the lounge up high on top of furniture. They were dried out in 5 days or so and were great, all brewed now and all drunk! I did say it was a small crop!

No but the German word for lager means to store and, well these things are brewery fresh as they say with Carlton Draught now on telly so they are not made like a lager is supposed to be made, only they have used a bottom fermenting yeast but that's about all. I guess you could call a VB a lager...

Well they look like some great plants to me. I'm growing hops for the first time thanks to a friend who got me a few rhizomes of different varieties. The Hallertau Hershbrucker and cascade plants are in the ground and I have wire along the front of the house so they have about 8 meters to grow...

Or.........just wait till I get a crop and try it for myself. The cascade with the roo under it is really growing now with the warm weather as it has been real slow so far.

I know someone who used to double prime his old VB stubbies but only fill them to 3/4. It will up the ABV by maybe .5% and when he twisted off the tops they hit the ceiling of any party with a bang!! I'd be scared though having them rattle around in the back of the car on the way to the party.
