Well after several years of forced hiatus (one of the joys of childbirth apparently) I'm slowly working myself back into brewing and planning just some K&K's to get back up to doing a full mash etc. I'm also going to start kegging to cut down on the time bottling etc which I haven't done...

Being that most homebrewers are a fairly resourceful bunch, I'm interested to find out what you are growing or making for yourself that most people go out and buy. For myself the list is something along the lines of Beer (no surprise really) Herbs and Veges - run of the mill stuff Citrus...

Now I have a use for my excess lemon, oranges and limes, and the neighbours grapefruit, other than making marmalade or curd!. Cheers!

Good luck with it which ever way you go. If you haven't done too much before grab someone who knows what they are doing to show you the ropes. It will save you a lot of heart ache than trying to work it out yourself. Other than that its down to practice and a few kilos of wire/rods and you'll go...

My two cents worth... A couple of considerations for you. If you only intend to weld mild steel in the shed, the MIG would be the only option I would consider really. A major advantage of a stick welder though is its portability, ability to weld in winds etc. You only need a breeze about 5kmph...
