    Gear needed for Scaling up

Hey steveski, What your planning sounds similar to my system. Hlt 50l keg Mt 50l keg Bk. 18 gal keg (68l) Fermenter 55l Finished batch size = 36l (2 cornies) I’m yet to really push it as I generally brew around the 4.5% to 5% mark, but I’m guessing it’d do up to 6%. Yet to have a boil over too

    2018 NSW State Comp

I’m with the big fella The anticipation is the most exciting part of a competition like this & it should cost more to cover wages or at least a bonus for the volunteers time. How exciting is it that a beer you’ve brewed at home & is up against the legends of brewing in Nsw (pro & amateur)...

    2018 NSW State Comp

Beer Style Question Fella’s I’ve brewed a beer based on an neipa recipe & used a German lager yeast, but I’m confused as to which category to enter it into. I guess you’d call it an neipl. It has the hoppy aroma of an ipa, yet the smooth almost malty flavour of a Bavarian lager. Any suggestions?

Hey brewers, I have a few items to offload if anyone is interested. Pick up is Inner West Sydney. Item 1 - 30L Urn 2400W 10A I’ve only ever used it as a HLT so she’s clean as a whistle. Has 2 bulkheads for taps & thermowell installed. Asking $180 Item 2 - Glass Fermenter x 2 Bought the first...

That’s exactly what you need drewgong. I’ve just put the same font , snaplocks & taps together There’s a guy sells good quality 2nd hand snap locks & taps on eBay for half the price of Andale. New Andale snaplocks were around $45 & brumby taps just over $100 from memory.

    Low dissolved oxygen brewing techniques

Isn’t this a lively discussion!! The use of SMB/CH3COOH/Brewtan as an O2 killer has always struck me as something coming from the mind of a food chemist. ie - how can we make this jam last until 2100. I do understand wine has more of an investment in time & ageing than beer, but one has to...

Maris otter golden promise pale ale?

That was the first beer I brewed from the book. At the time I was hop bursting 100’s & 100’s of g of hops into 10 different grains, thinking that was the holy grail. Those 2 grains the OP asked about have changed the way I approach a recipe & I tend to agree with the “brilliant “ brewers quote...

    Volt meter wiring

You really should have an electrician install that for you. Mine are the 12v version so wired differently. Having said that, they are an incredibly handy gadget to have. Not only working out the cost per brew/month/annum, but also finding the tipping point for your breaker when you’ve got...
