3v Brewery for sale in Tasmania

Hi everyone long time no see. I have given up brewing and drinking and selling my whole AG brew setup for less than half the price I have paid. Included is a customised Cheeky peak electric HERMS system - 50L SS sandwich base MT with Blichman sparge arm, 50L SS HLT with 2x 2200W elements and...

Hacked 85-2 heated magnetic stir plate

I'll test the theory for you later on today Andy; I'll set the set point high and try control the temp by SCR control alone. P.S. It's a 220V 250W element in the one I've got here.

Hacked 85-2 heated magnetic stir plate

Hi everyone, I recently bought one of these el cheapo Chinese gizmos and no matter what I done with the PID settings it would overshoot a long way past the set point...

    Recycling

Hi all, Just thought I might share a picture of an old broken bed that I recently repurposed. My daughter helped me design it and my gf helped me to construct it. It's quite roughly slapped together using the available tools and joining materials laying about and still needs a sanding and a...

    Wild Upgrade

Plate chiller sorted, I'll attach a T piece on the wort outlet and install a thermometer soon. One final clean and test run and I should be good to go. I'll take some more snaps when I get around to a brew day :)

    Modifying Temp Controlled Kettle Element?

It looks home made, but I could be wrong. Do you know what it was used for or how many watts the element is?

    Wild Upgrade

Cheers Damoninja, I had a few small hiccups dealing with them but they were helpful and got everything sorted in the end so will continue to do business. Thanks Droopy, I'll plumb it up this arvo and test it with some water when I'm giving it's next test/ cleaning run.

    Keggle elements

Have you looked at using RIMS rather than HERMS? it could be a cheaper more viable option. I've played around with the KK type and yeah they get too hot in an enclosure alone. I stick to the VSSR with a potentiometer now, if you go solid state try buy one that comes with the pot and heat sink...

    Wild Upgrade

Thanks Abyss. Hi Crusty, it sounds like you are being less of a tight arse than myself, altho I do have a lot invested. I'm pretty sure there are online calculators if you want to get an idea of what your ramp times will be like. I've been thinking about upgrading one of my pumps to a march or...

    Wild Upgrade

Hi all, the wiring and lighting are sorted now and I've built a dodgy range hood from polycarb with ducting to ventilate the steam from the shed. I just have to plumb up the plate chiller, clean and sterilise etc. and I should be good to go. I have gave it a test run whilst cleaning and found no...

    Wild Upgrade

Hi all, me and my sparky mate have had alot going on which has delayed things far more than expected but everything seems to be going full steam ahead now. I've bought a KK plate chiller to switch out my old copper immersion chiller and installed the 2 x 2200W elements in my BK; they just need...

All Grain Brewers on North West of Tassie

Hi Gloveski, I'm in Burnie and BOC do the rental/ replacement deal in the South Burnie area too. I order my grain, hops, yeast, sanitiser and brew wash etc. from Brewman in Vic, he has a good variety and the brew builder on his site is awesome, he packages everything well and is prompt to...

    Wild Upgrade

So cutting to the chase here's where I'm at now: I've got a shed up with dodgy floor drainage but it's a something I guess, it's easy to drain using a squeegee; I've nearly finished my control box, which I'll explain a bit more about soon; I have everything necessary to install a separate 32A...

    Wild Upgrade

Here's some pics making a Choc Porter (full to the brim) using the sestos control measuring from HX exit. You can also see the relay I've been using sitting on top of my couch. It came out OK but was nothing to write home about.
