    I think BIAB is a great place to start. As other have said simple recipe to start...do a SMASH APA or something. I think looking after your yeast is a biggie. 2nd hand bar fridge with a temperature control and go for it.

    Hey Tyson...that would be FG. I had this problem in the early days. My problem was mash temps wern't accurate. Mash to high by accident leaving behind unfermentables. How long are you leaving the yeast to ferment?

    The one thing to improve your brewday and quality of beer....

    Keep the yeast happy - all important processes that lead to that goal. Pitching rates, aeration, temp control, enough fermentation time. Get that right and you will taste the recipe for what it is.

    Dry hopping

    Flame out hops will definitely add aroma and flavour. Also look in First Wort Hops, this will do the same. Do your research for extra bitterness or "perceived bitterness that these processes can contribute and adjust your recipe accordingly if need be. Keg hopping is another option as well...

    Cascade hops. What beer to brew?

    Epic Pale Ale has all cascade additions.....http://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=194085 Cascade sits well with any other fruity citrus hop in ales. Ive also seen it used with EKG in bitters, but used sparingly.

    LC Bright Ale 68% Pilz 20% Vienna 6% Carapils 6% Wheat Motueka/Cascade @ 45/20/DH Mash @ 65. Boil for 90.
