    "AF" Beers

Thanks for the suggestions, I totally forgot about Nanny state as I thought it was a bit average when I tried it a while back, whereas the ones I mentioned have been my go to AF beers now. And locally made/owned too. Good suggestion on the crystal malt XPA, will have to give it a spin soon...

    "AF" Beers

Has anyone tried, or got any recipies for ultra low alc beers similar in flavour to the upflow session ipa or the heaps normal brews?

    FS (BNE)

Selling my keezer collar and freezer as I don't have the space for it any more. The freezer is a kelvinator H150H with dimensions 55W x 61D x 85H The collar is 64W x 68D x 29D With the collar on the freezer the height is around 110cm. No fittings or temp control is included. Pick up from...

    200L fridge [BNE]

Selling an older fridge that would be great for fermenting or conversion to keg serving. Keeps it's temperature pretty stable. Missing the front legs but a piece of wood solves that. $40, pickup only in Kangaroo Point.

Side by side fridge and external thermostat

My freezer section hovers around 2 degrees when the fermentation chamber is set to 18 degrees. So I use it to store bottled beer.

Having a whinge at the price of beer

Or the high alcohol tax in general. People are always going to flock to the cheapest option. It's high time we address the underlying issues instead of providing a bandaid 'solution' that fixes nothing.

    STC-1000 went bang

I've had a few cheapos die over the years, usually due to an internal power supply heat fault. I've replaced with a better quality one and haven't had an issue since. You get what you pay for.

Having a whinge at the price of beer

I now just ask for a small or a large beer. Too many differences between states and countries for me to get upset over local semantics :)

Still have some left if anyone's keen on building their own mash controller.

COUNTERFEIT SSR WARNING - CHECK YOUR GEAR!

That's exactly what I did when building my brewpi a few years back. Interesting to see this is still an issue.

    Ardbir build help please.

^ the ardbir boards already take this into account, so the OP won't have to worry about this.
  14. Q

    Ardbir build help please.

All depends on how you want to set it up really! Which version of the ardbir are you using? The one where the arduino is built onto the board, or using a separate UNO/Mega board? I recently made one that sits on PCB spacers screwed onto a mounting plate inside the enclosure. My LCD is mounted...

    OpenArdBir / Braudino boards

I have a few spare openardbir boards + a few components to offload to anyone who wants to build their own mash controller. It's the last version PCB before the onboard arduino was designed and is the one found here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/96o6i39o50llama/AABVp-eUII7ZKqueoC4oIUtEa/PCB?dl=0...

WTB: Brauduino 2.1 pcb or simmilar

I have a bunch of the openardbir PCBs laying around that I'm going to offload soon. I'm in the US for the next couple weeks but will message you if you're still keen for one when I'm back.

Foam Pouring from one new tap

Adding a fan is definitely the way to go. As you touched upon, there will be a temperature difference between the upper and lower areas of the freezer. Adding a fan will reduce this difference quite a bit.

    Stc 1000

I've had a couple dodgy controllers do this. They were the dual power ones, where you could supple 240v or 12v via two separate terminal blocks. Both controllers failed on the 240v side within a week (looked like the dodgy rectifier diodes couldn't handle my supply). Luckily since the 12v...
