    Cask and Hand-pump

I think it also has something to do with the pressure a hand-pump can force a beer up the line and into the glass. They foam up quite a bit when pulling the pump and I usually left mine about 30-60sec after pouring so the ultra fine bubbles in the beer can lift to the surface and clear the beer.

    Cask and Hand-pump

Wow!! I did open up a can of worms methinks... haha Totally understand the logistics and the why of the beer engine. And why they aren't really needed if you can gravity feed the tap. But... I don't want a syringe hanging around my bar to add head to the beer when the...

Ginger Beer Recipe - Scratch Brew No Kit

Ok so i put down my first GB brew the other day. I had to use a kit as i dont have AG kit yet and Ginger is 25.99/kg but used most of Chappo's recipe and tweaked it a bit to cope with a kit. WOW!!! This thing tastes amazing! Can't wait for it to ferment out and have a taste. The dark...

Frequently Asked Questions For The New Brewer

Is it better to cold condition in the FV or bottle then? Also correct me if I'm wrong but just need to confirm what I'm reading... Cold crashing/crash chilling is bringing the temp way down from ferment temp so the yeast starts to drop out of suspension and clear up. Cold conditioning...
