The problem has to be the knurl on the rollers, they either wear very quickly and this would not happen with quality stainless. Or the knurling was not aggressive enough to start with, knurling stainless is difficult and the knurling heads would need to be replaced now and then to keep the same...

Add fruit if you like, I bet you make an great beer but it's not a Saison. A true Saison is all about the yeast, in fact herbs and spices are better kept to a minimum. I love the style.

Personally I don't think Saisons should contains fruit, you should be looking more towards a Flanders.

I bought a used March Pump in excellent order for $100.00, with the stainless bracket. That's what I would expect them to be second hand.

Good to hear, still give the impeller bush and pump shaft a clean later, it takes very little build up to cause a stuck impeller. Lots of threads here about March pumps with this issue. Happened to me once as well.

Kaxian pump is a magnetic drive yes? If so the humming is the magnets rotating, check to make sure there is no build up of sticky old wort in the pump impeller mounting hole and the shaft is clean. A little metho will clean it up. It does not take much to slow or stop these things.

I want to scream! If I lived closer I'd buy this even when I don't really need it. That urn would make an killer mash tun, use one tap hole for a wort return.
