Chilling the wort up here in the top end!

Yes I've done this before too, I think if you stash it in the fridge and come back about 24 hours later it might be about pitching temp.

Chilling the wort up here in the top end!

When I lived in Darwin I used a 30 plate chiller (first) in line with an immersion chiller (last) which I put in an ice slurry.

Continuing Rant Thread - Get it Off Ya Chest here

My mouth (quite often) moves faster than my brain, and that's worth a rant right there. But recently I started a little science rant, realised too late, wrong time wrong place. My uncle passed away last year and I got the opportunity to catch up with my aunt earlier this year. We were looking...

    PID PV reads incorrectly

I had a similar issue with my temp probes. I had originally mounted them below my heater element. There seemed to be an 'inactive/cool zone' in that area. In the kettle this would lead to an aggressive boil and a lot of boil overs as it was always trying to heat up. In the HLT also it would be...

    Education Topics - Hobart Brewers

If any of our members are interested in giving a short presentation at one of our meetings, please let me know and I'll arrange it. We have a lot of topics to cover and it would be great to get people up and talking about what they know about brewing. Everyone benefits! I think you'll find that...

Hobart Brewers - Guest speaker - 21 May

For our next meeting we've been lucky enough to score a visit from Chris Thomson, Head Distiller at Lark. Chris is going to be chatting to us about the brewing and fermenting process from a whisky makers perspective and a bit about wild ferments and how that works for them over at Lark.. So if...

Any interest in a Hobart based home brew club?

Jimmy, I'll be brewing AG on Saturday morning. I was chatting with you (briefly) the other night - I was sitting on the steps. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

So I should just go to the badass assembly of beards and that will be the homebrew club?

    LNP win in Tasmania

Best meat for sustainable farming in this country. Mind you I'd miss the Black Angus/Wagyu scotch fillet.

    PID Controller wanted.

I used Auber Instruments. Been awhile since I bought it but pretty sure it was this one http://www.auberins.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=106

It would be a tough gig, no doubt, being under constant scrutiny. But the more you give the servant, the more he thinks he's the master.

    LNP win in Tasmania

Interesting point Shaunous, but if 500k +benefits is not quite enough then I wonder what is? The way I see it, it's really the public service that do the work and the Prime Minister and other ministers that lay it out before the Australian people. Politicians are not subject matter experts, it's...

    The last of us

It's been out for awhile, but after playing this game a few times, I'm comfortable with the zombie apocalypse. Seriously if there any console gamers that haven't played this yet, get on it. If anyone can recommend a game with as good a storyline or general gameplay, I will get it :P...

    LNP win in Tasmania

Feels more like Labor was voted out, rather than the Libs being voted in. Shit happens in a two party system. It's been a long time since I lived here previously, but I don't really remember Tasmania prospering under any government, so I'm not sure what all the fuss is about politically. Sure is...
