Question: Is a relay board suitable a replacement for SSR?

Hey all, i'm designing a hefty upgrade for my BCS controlled panel and was wondering if anyone can see a problem with my scope of works. Every system i've looked at seems to utilise solid state relays for switching the elements that have heatsinks mounted externally for effectiveness. Relay...

Cleaning Esky Mash Tun for first brew day and test.

Vinegar worked wonders on my copper stuff when i was just starting out, now that I have StarSan there's no reason to use anything else cost per litre is low and it works a treat. When using vinegar I was using it at 50/50 with water and getting it to a hottish temp.

For Sale: bcs 460 Melbourne. $120.00

You use a calculator like this LINK and a good mercury thermometer to get the probe resistance coefficients and input them into the BCS program so your read-outs make sense.

    FS: 16m Copper Immersion Chiller

You can pick up 18m of 1/2" copper from bunnings for $100 but all the sweating and swearing it took to bend it still makes this a decent deal.

Dang it. Drawing attention to this one on AHB I was hoping no body would see it. Sniper bids galore at the last second.

Comment by 'Navin' in media 'New Kettle - pickup install'

You could also use some washers to limit the amount of thread taken up. It might be a bit of trial & error / hit & miss with the thickness of the washer to get it right. Stainless or squash-able silicon, not sure about using nylon on the outside re heat resistance but it won't be in contact with...

    website deals of the day

Grain and Grape are having a fathers day sale offering 20% off items under $250 and 10% off over $250. The gift card seemed like a good idea for me. Spend $160 on a $200 gift card and decide what I need (want) later. No affiliation, just seemed like a good deal.

Herms coil vs immersion chiller where to use my 18m coil

Are caustic cleaners that much better? Should I consider replace the pick up tube and the wort return I was thinking of adding to the kettle using copper with stainless. Napisan and Star-San have been the go to thus far. I'll go with the 18m immersion better to overshoot then under build it and...

Hi guys, I've been looking at buying some annealed copper to make a wort chiller and 18m (1/2") is the best value (I'll call around the air conditioning places before committing to the big green shed). I like the idea of future proofing my brewery for potential upgrades the best I can so I...
