    Who Uses a Hop Sock/Bag

Yes the same one, for really small hop additions go for it as they are beaut for that, just shite for large additions according to my brewing

    Who Uses a Hop Sock/Bag

Yeah it not a negative as such as much you will use a lot more hops per batch with it, its different strokes for different folks, bit like the dry yeast argument  I just found my hop utilisation was crap when using it and when your trying to fit 200 to 400 grams in a 40Litre batch it was...

    Who Uses a Hop Sock/Bag

I was using a K K hop spider, shit of a thing struggled to get a good load of hops in it, anything more than 100g was too much for it, since I have stopped and gone nude my bittering charge is around 25% of what it used to be and get a better depth of bittering and flavour from the hops, put a...

    Temp probe location

I will be recirculating back to the side of the mash tun but could just as easily return to a stainless plate sort of thing to the centre top of the grain bed, I'm presently using gas recirc biab but striving for a bit better temp control of the mash to get everything as consistent as possible...

    Temp probe location

I am adding an extra couple of PID's and 40amp SSR's power outlets plus temp probes as I scored a massive stainless box that's got loads of room and then I can add an extra kettle or two for long sour mashes, so thought why not stick and extra temp probe into a vessel in the mean time hence why...

    Temp probe location

In the middle of getting everything together for a 3V build, now I am going to use a hems coil in a separate vessel for the hex and am going to put a temp probe in the mash tun and also on the hex, where would be the best place to put the probes and to take the mash temp reading from, I am...

Fitting a bulkhead fitting and tap to a cornelius keg. Can it be done?

Can you not just use a picnic tap on the out post to draw a sample that way you can continue to use it as a keg as well if wanted

    Forgot to Oxygenate my Wort

I wouldn't be adding oxygen to it now you'll totally wreck it, bump it up to 18-20 for a couple of days check gravity to ensure its finished then bring it back down to 10 degrees over a week, crash chill and lager for a week or so it'll be fine, The yeast will clean itself up I wouldn't be...

    Odd ball lock post sizes

If its genuine Cornelius it is something like 19/32 thread, have a hunt on eBay in the states as that's where I found some spare posts for mine, the ones like you have purchased I think are for the firestone kegs

Excessive yeast bite / back end bitterness?

don't fear the foam is all I can say about sanitisation, just make sure you spray the crap out of everything and you'll be all good, once you've done it you'll wonder what all the fuss was about I used to store under some sterile water for a while in the fridge and then bring up to pitching...

Excessive yeast bite / back end bitterness?

I wouldn't bother washing US05 just top crop it, its much easier and quicker, Then you can grab 4 or 5 jars of yeast from the first brew so less risk of generational change of the yeast and you get the same amount of brews out of your present regime

Mangrove Jacks west cost ale yeast

I used it once to try it was a slow starter for me but got there in the end, I certainly wouldn't panic yet take a hydro sample as see if the gravity is heading in the right direction then relax into the day
