NTC "stc" probes are not wort proof.

Howdy, Been using STC probes for some time now. They are usually sold with units that are to be used as aquarium water sensors such as the STC-1000's. I've been using them inside fermenters and inside HERMS "wort liquid" for some time and can now say without a doubt they will fail when used...

    Cold filtered beer still hazy?

I'm a little stumped not something I've encountered before. Filtered a few light coloured beers with great success but this kolsch is giving me grief. Usual process: I've let it sit for a week on the yeast cold crashed 3 days and then another week in the keg. Failed to clear so I used my backup...

ADL Swap / Sell modified ferment fridge.

Howdy, I have a Chronical fermenter that has sat in the office without beer in it. My ferment fridge although supremely awesome at fermenting 60L of beer is too small. I would like to swap for a upright all fridge / Freezer or possibly sell to use the cash to obtain one. This "ferment chamber...

Cheap Ebay 10L urn Herms result.

Howdy, Had a crack at the cheapie pictured below for my herms set-up. Circles E-bay for ~ $80. Lasted about 9 months and 20 brews before the element tripped the breaker. Urn internals not the best. Probably not worth the repair effort. My advice you get what you pay for :D.

    Vegetarian Gel-it-in Queens

Had a keg of beer, waited... waited.... for it to clear and then after a week got tired of waiting and just added gelatin as usually do. Next day clear beer and no yeasty off flavour, happy days. That said I have a few lads that are not to fond of some additives and I like knowing if a vegan...

I think my web server sucks, help me prove it

Howdy Guys, I've noticed my sites been flakey and sometimes completely down the last few days and it's a little concerning as some people may be carrying out transactions not to mention I for one don't want to do business with a erratic site nor would you. QTY 2 x 20L Maxi Pail Fits a 25KG bag of Grain.

Might be common knowledge but two maxi pail buckets will fit 25KG of grain perfectly. Good idea to help split a bag and share with your brewing mates. Also makes grain super easy to move around once it's down to 12.5kg's a piece if your getting on a bit...

Can one boil a starter too long?

May have left it on a little too long while bagging up some hops, Dme appears a little caramelized topped it up with a bit more water and re-boiled for another 10-15mins. Think the yeast would mind?

If you had 25 activated Wyeast packets...

What crazy idea's would you come up with? 1056 American ale batch decided it couldn't wait for beer to get active - new years resolution maybe? Anyhow I've offered free to the local Adelaidians but I'm sure there will be some left over and I can't sell it in this state. So far I'm thinking...

Free ADL Bar fridge compressor LG.

Howdy, A few months back I was well on the way of making a ferment chamber from a surplus bar fridge I had. I've carefully removed it from the fridge shell - no easy task. The thermostat's still hooked up but a STC 1000 would be the go. It works a treat super cold in no time and I even had...

    No spill quick disconnects

Howdy, Any of you knowledgeable lads have any recommendations for some all stainless quick disconnect brands with the self sealing ability once disconnected? I've found a few but appears they are for hydraulic applications and I'm not 100% sure the o-rings are beer friendly. Another type was...
