    Thanks Manticle, that's a big help, according to the brewcraft calculator (thanks grott) it should be about 1020, so I will turn the temp up to 16 and give the fermenter a gentle swirl then check it again in a couple of days

    Manticle the brew has been sitting on 1030 since 09/04 And the yeast was saflager S23. Do you think I should try to get the yeast going again, maybe bring the temp up a little and give the fermenter a swirl? Or should I buy a new packet of yeast and re pitch? Thanks

    well the beer has been in the bottle tor 3 weeks now and I must say it is supurb, im not getting much of a head on the beer but its carbonated just fine and the flavour is great. next week i start the next batch, possibly a czeck pilsner. thanks for all of the advice and encoragement especially...

    Ive just read on the instructions that came with the converter the final SG should be 1010 to 1012, but that is for 21lt of wort, Ive done 18lt would that make that much differance?

    ok, the beer kit converter contains:- maltose dextrose malto-dextrin malted barley fuggles hopps lactose I gave the wort a good swirl last night and it bubbled a few times since but not much. im thinking of letting it sit for a week and seeing how it goes
