Had the new india black ale at white rabbit today. They use the same malt as the dark ale with US (citra and cent or cascade) and UK hops. Very tasty. More roast malt character than hop. The guy there said the have two fermenters freed up for more specialty brews in the future.

Is there a rough measurement of the amount of hops and beer styles. Eg: > 500g per 100L for an ipa. 1kg per 100L dipa. 250g - 400g per 100L for pale ale etc?

What is it? I think i may be tasting in a couple of my brews. The two kit beers ive made so far have this weird bitterness that im sure doesnt come from the hops iv added. My FWK with added hops taste much better. Is this a hopped can trait or does it come with non hopped extract too? Cheers.

Just threw togeather a coopers zycoe ale. Can CPA. 1.5kg breiss pilsen lme. Brew booster #20 1kg. 10g zythos 20min. 10g simcoe 15min. 10g zythos 10min. 10g simcoe 5min. 10g of each at 5days. US 05. OG 1060. 22l. Would it be worth pitching another pack of US 05 since the OG is high?

Ive done some reading into cold crashing. Whats the best temp? As close to 0 as possible? For how long is it required? Is 48 hours long enough? Thanks.

My second brew has a cidery smell to it. Is this normal? Its an amarillo FWK. Its still very cloudy from the yeast i think. Its only been 8 days from pitching the yeast. Ferment stopped after day 4. Any thoughts would be greatfull.

I have tried searching for this answer. Why do the instructions on cans say to heat can and disolve in hot water then pore straight into the fermenter. What about the 60 min boil? Is that just for the hop bitterness addition?
