    Dpesnt the original recipe say this: 12 Litres 100% Apple juice no added flavours or preservatives (Bought from Aldi) 8 Litres Apple & Pear juice no added flavours or preservatives (Woolworths) This isnt reconstituted apple juice right?

    Water loss when boiling hops

    Hi guys, With regards to boiling your hops with the lid of the pot off, lets say you start with 10l water, then after boiling hops you end up with 7l, is it ok to simply add another 3l of water into the fermenter if your recipe was based on 10l? Regards, Robbie

    Thanks guys.. Whats the reason shaking the beejesus out of the cold wort (which is in your fermenter)? Nick, why take out the carafa 3? Unfortunately, all my grain has been ground and mixed together.

    no chill method? is that pretty much transferring the hot wort to another vessel for cooling?

    Then an ice bath it is:) But i think ill use the sink first to try and draw as much heat as possible from the pot, then put into ice bath.
