    KegLand Questions and Answers

We had a big discussion about this in the office. Definitely a way of keeping everything ‘enclosed’. But I and others wondered if it comes at the expense of flavour and aroma. We go to all these lengths to get the freshest hops - what sort of detrimental effect would the vigorous fermentation...

Cold crashing will help get the last of the yeast, as will giving it a very gentle circular swirl if all else fails.

    GUTEN

There will always be people like you are avid for scandal. What if... people just genuinely liked the Robobrew?... people compare them since they’re so similar and surprise surprise, some even have a preference! Not everything needs to be considered through the lens of a tin foil hat. Leave it...

    GUTEN

I’ll openly say I work at KL - no dramas there. Do I or anyone that actually works at KL care to weigh in? Nope. I personally don’t like posting here for how political and off topic it’s become, though. Gone are the days of being able to post without being questioned/accused/ridiculed. I can...

These vessels stand can also be flipped and used without the collection jar. I like to take off the valve handle when doing this to avoid accidentally dumping sweet liquid gold on the ground. You can use the edges of the slightly larger stand as a handle to take it in and out of a fridge. You...

    Pilsner tips

Agreed. I’m currently doing a Pilsner at work with White Labs Pilsner yeast. I’ve been tinkering with fast lager ferments by starting at 14c with a good healthy starter. Pre pressurise the vessel with oxygen to 10psi and connect a sounding valve at the same pressure. After a good Krausen has...

    Dual purpose Robobrew

I’ve used my Robobrew v3 for both. No discernible effects from dual-purposing at all! As long as you clean between brewing/distilling, you won’t even know what it was used for last. Put it this way: do you taste the stout you brewed on your last batch in the pale ale you’re brewing this time...

Feeling electricity through hands when using Guten

It should be, yes. But the guy in the shop just popped it on the outside. There’s no way for the cover that was given to me to be fitted to the switch any other way, including from the inside.

Feeling electricity through hands when using Guten

That’s my thinking too; I’ll drop them an email but wasn’t sure how much current was below the RCD’s threshold. Last time I was there about an unrelated issue with the unit, the bloke there just pushed on a little plastic rubber face on the switches, it fell off before I’d gotten back in the...

Feeling electricity through hands when using Guten

Hey all, did a brew yesterday and noticed a little bit of current going through my hand when I touched the guten. While heating up the strike water in my 40L vessel purchased last year, I stock my hand in the water to grab out a floaty. When doing do, I immediately noticed the unmistakeable...

    flow control taps

Any time you try to control flow at the end point of dispensing, you’re going to get a less than ideal pour. This is the case with all FC type taps where the FC shuttle is right in the last 5cm. No matter how much line you have behind an FC tap and no matter how balanced it is you are still...

    Quick fermentation

Hey Kev, Congrats on making the move! First and foremost, how does it taste? Fermentation can sometimes go that quick depending on what yeast you used, but unless you’re tightly controlling the temp, my guess would be you’re possibly fermenting it a little hot or pitching a butt-tonne of...

    Lauter Helix.

Even when they do keep to their thread it seems they can't escape your incessant ****-slinging. Ironic too you're dragging their name through the dirt yet again in an also unrelated thread. Point out these 'bogus accounts to me' if you could please? since being transparent and direct is of...

    Lauter Helix.

Dude, you just can’t help yourself, can you?... again with the unnecessary Kegland slagging... give it a rinse already. Just because it looks like misleading or deceptive conduct to you personally, does not make it so at law. Any first-year student could tell you that.

    iSpindel Digital Hydrometer

Update: bridged one of the terminals to ground and was able to reflash successfully. All is go now! And even better, was BANG ON 27 degrees after mounting with the suggested size battery and pushing to very bottom of the unit. Thanks for the fine device :)

    iSpindel Digital Hydrometer

Not entirely sure what happened, but i can verify it definitely did arrive with the firmware on it and is a top notch product, i most likely fudged it myself during setup. When i monitor it with Termite, it goes bonkers after i plug it in with a bunch of (what seems to programming illiterate me)...

Should also add, I have the bee2bee version too, very nice build! I didn’t have to file mine down though and still fits securely without moving.

    iSpindel Digital Hydrometer

Hey all, Hoping you could help you troubleshoot some software issues with the iSpindel Hardwares working fine but can’t for the life of me get the flashing right I’ve re-flashed countless times now and all I ever get is ‘ESP_04F825’ after in the wifi connections. When I try to connect it...

    Fermentasaurus Incontinance

Jesus, enough with the Kegland and Kegking **** already. Like or dislike a product, simple as that. Would end up looking pretty bad if you had a horse in the race and worked for KegKing too, I might add.
