Off Flavour in last 3 kits

If the first one was good and the next three not so good, was the gear all new for the first one? Maybe an issue with cleaning and sanitising practices that need a tune up. Just another thought. I agree with the others, BIAB is much better than kits and REALLY easy.

    DIY Dual Regulator

If you look on the opposite side of the gas in there is a plug. Remove plug from one and gas in on the other, 1/4NPT joiner of suitable length btween the two. There you go.

Perlick Flow Control Taps - All Foam Wtf?

Just a thought but I had similar problems with Celli taps, what it ended up being (for probably no good reason), I had put 90 Deg. elbows after the shank. Foam everywhere. Removed the elbows, made no change to anything else, including Gas, problem solved. Not knowing your setup it's worth a...

    Boil Time

Thanks guys, It all seems a bit clearer now, seems to be the eradication or reducing the level / presense of DMS is the primary concern. From my limited understanding this is not so much of an issue these days with the quality of malts available. Thanks for clearing it up.

    Keg Carbonation Issues

Lots of potential problems here. 1. do you have bubbles in the line in the Fridge?, generally overgassed will leave bubbles in the line and can cause gushing at the tap ( no carbonation left ) 2. are you using a tap or a gun? ( the temp may have something to do with it). 3. if you are using a...

    Boil Time

G'Day all, I have a question regarding Boil time. A lot of recipes for all grain have a boil time of 90 minutes, as I am new to all grain having only had one go at it so far, a Cascade as recommended by the good folks at Craft Brewers, which I might say turned out not to shabby. I am doing...

    My Craftbrewer Build

Agree with the Lube. I assume you have some PBW (great for cleaning kegs and everything else), as well as Starsan, I cant believe I didn't use this stuff earlier http://www.aussiehomebrewer.com/forum/styl...default/dry.gif 10 meters is a lot of hose if you are using the Celli's, they come with...

    Beer Lines Outside Keezer Issues?

I speak with experience here. The taps you are dealing with, whom ever you bought them from, CNC are great people, do not compare with other taps available. I had foaming issues with these taps, whatever the line lenghts were. I had a pluto gun that gave me no problems, changed to the flow...

    Co2 Volume

Thanks for the replies. It seems that it was not a straight forward pump this much in at this pressure, let it rest at a given temp to get the required volume of CO2. I like Ross's force carb method as I get to drink it faster, it works for me. I suppose I was thinking of it not as Volumes or...

    Co2 Volume

Thanks, but I understand pressure and temp will affect the amount of co2 in solution. What I am trying to understand is (being a noob to all this), if say 2.5 @5 Deg is "x", what pressure is required to achieve "x". Most charts sat you need a pressure of this or that for this period of time...

    Co2 Volume

G'Day all, I'm trying to understand CO2 volumes, I know that I need to achieve 2.5 volumes for my beers but what does this mean????? Does this mean that if I have a serving pressure of say 100Kpa, I need to force carbonate at 350 Kpa to get 2.5 Volumes? How do you determine 2.5 volumes??? I...
