my jerry can taps are getting harder and harder to put on as they need to be turned too far to tighten. is it the tap or bunnings jerry can that needs to be replaced?

ok my urn is out of action for a while. used a 20lt pot on the stove top after mashing in oven set to 60deg. (after getting water to temp) now my temp is reading 100deg but the wort looks like its just simmering? is this normal anyone else had this happen? boiling 13ltr of wort in pot.

my beer i made should have been 1065 i forgot to add about 5ltr to kettle to dilute (biab-maxi) now its sitting at 1085 in fermenter.could i dilute with water and rack on top before bottling or just ride the wave and see what comes?

I got given a 20L birko urn 2400 watt cleaned up nice on the weekend and works ok. The thing is the element looks black (or rusty unsure) with lite green on it. This didnt clean off should I replace it. Anyone had this problem? Will it effect my brew taste if I dont replace?
