Selling all - Kegs, fridge, freezer, capper, tree, filters, c02, reg,

Hi Guys, Unfortunately I've not had time to brew for ages. So regrettably I must sell my gear. Some of it is new and I never got to use it. I haven't worked out the prices yet. PM me if you're interested. I've got photos which I can send you if you provide your email address. I can post the...

More Friggin Infectionshad To Toss Out

Enjoy the troubleshooting... I agree get rid of the sanitised cloth. You could use foil, but I was thinking that nothing would get into the vessel when the air and steam is flowing out. When I'm troubleshooting I only change one thing each time to see if that fixed the problem. If you change a...

    Rinsing Yeast (in Pictures)

Looks like I'll be modifying my method next time. Thanks Yob.

    Me New Brewin Rig

Thanks sim... the "moving hoses" explains it. With the chiller, you could probably try to bend those tabs around using a vice or pliers, but it could be difficult to do. You wouldn't want to mark and gouge the steel either which would create little nooks and crannys which would be a pain to...

    Rinsing Yeast (in Pictures)

It was standard thickness I suppose. It certainly thinned out after I added the water to it and swished it about! When i did the process, I waited the 20 minutes each time with the solutions in the fridge, and the water I added was (boiled &) chilled straight from the fridge too. Do you think...

What Size Stirbar Should I Use?

I got the 50mm by 8mm without the pivot from Here! It suits the distance between my magnets mounted on the fan. I've seen some people using a hard drive magnet which is just one piece. I think if you have that sort of setup then you'll need a small stir bar. The only difference it's going to...

    Rinsing Yeast (in Pictures)

Hey Guys, I used this method to reuse my yeast WLP830. Some differences I've noticed are that the amount of yeast I collected was so small compared with the thick layer in Wolfy's photos. I've stored it in a White labs test tube, and the amount of yeast settled in there is approx. 1/4...

    Me New Brewin Rig

Your build looks great. How much was the steel for the frame? Also, I was trying to track where the plumbing goes and I got lost. I dunno if that's me or what, can you explain how you've routed it? And finally, how do you chill if you're using the chiller as a herms? Cheers

    Another Co2 Question...

I'd reccomend a few options here: If you aren't sure you'll be brewing at the rate of 1 keg per week then a small soda stream unit would probably do it. Nice and cheap and to stretch it you can carbonate naturally in the keg and just use the bottle gas to push it out. If you think you'll be...

    Leaking Co2 Bottle

Since the start of Feb? One whole month and it's already corroded! I'd be talking to the shop you bought it from.

    Rusty Flavour

Just stumbled across this webpage which expands on what felten said. In the case of my homebrew: I filter the water, and I don't have any stainless or aluminium in the process (excluding the kegs - but I was talking bottled anyway). Maybe it is the crown seals... I imagine that the longer...

Liab - Lauter In A Bag!

I think he means to carry out the mash with no bag. Then to filter using the bag inside the fermenter. Then transfer filtered wort to stove, wrap in foil and boil away. ...i think

    Warning To No Chillers

If you can get podcasts, there are some really good podcasts called Brew Strong. They have one on Cleaning and one on Sanitation. From what those guys were saying, there is no point sanitising until the cleaning is done. If you're satisfied there is no gunk or dirt or whatever on the surface of...

No Chill / Partial Chill / Full Chill Experiment

I think a lab report on official IBU's is a good idea. Having tasters alone would only be able to determine results based on perceptions of bitterness and preferred tastes. Having real data to refer back to would be valuable.... and it shouldn't cost too much either. Edit: I think both tasters...

It was the BIAB section I was referring to. You could put metric in parentheses or create an another link. Such as BIAB (metric) and BIAB ( imperial). However you choose mate. Thanks for making the effort.

    Power Bill

we saved at least $200 per quarter by running the washing machine and dishwasher only after 10pm when power goes to off-peak rates.

    Launching Brewgeeks

I like the articles in your site. I've been thinking of similar ideas for fermentation temp control. Well done. I must say though, imperial measurements are like a foreign language, and I was a bit disappointed not to see metric equivalents in all the measurements and calcs. Cheers
