Dedicated Grainfather Guide, Problems and Solutions Thread

Hi, great thread. I've read snippets and will have to browse through this whole thread when I have time. A thing that has helped me, not really a problem but cleaning is much faster if you clean the CF chiller at the same time, attach the end of the recirc hose onto the end of the CF chiller...

Continuing Rant Thread - Get it Off Ya Chest here

I'll take a camping chair, a tv (for the cricket) and a big roll and I'll live in that shipping container until the jobs done! ;) SN rep was good mate, wanted to know the exact store etc. Don't think there's much they can do though mate, ship it refrigerated to Sydney or somewhere, then it's...

    Storing "no Chill" Cubes

Yep, like Manticle said, I shake it until I'm stuffed (2 minutes), then I sit down and shake it a bit more just by grabbing the cube handle and rocking moderately violently side to side until it beats me and I grab a beer. Works well. I pitched a cider (juice only quick version) in my cube as...

    Storing "no Chill" Cubes

Hope it's okay to revive this very old thread? I no chill cube with a bung and ferment in the cube too, on bottling/kegging day I starsan a tap and the bung area and insert the tap (then rest the cube for 20 mins so everything settles). Anyone else do the same? Any issues I should be aware of...

    No Chill and Boil time

How were the hops loose mate? Do you have a tap or siphon? Last time I used hop bags in my cubes, they were a bit annoying to get out later with about 38g in them, so if loose works that's great! Thanks, Nicko.

Nice one Droopy, Yeah I use a slurry mate, but i'll keep doing the five minutes (it's probably less really, just a quick bleed), i slit their gills after i brain spike them, that makes a big difference too as they don't jump around the esky.
