Has anyone has an issue with grain not being able to pass through? Last weekend, I was using voyager compass pale as a base malt and could barely get any to pass through the rollers with the biggest gap possible. Thankss to the guys at Hoppy Days, for getting us out of the jam on brew day..

here is my last brew, I tried numerous things to filter the trub but two piece of S/S gauze from a camping shop formed around the pick up gave excellent flow. best $3 Ive ever spent!

I put on a brew yesterday whilst watching the race. I had to drink half a carton of pale ale to get the yeast for the ferment :P

Picked up my POR plants today, Thanks heaps Jeff. I cant wait to use the first crop, hopefully sometime next year.

I can vouch for this yeast.. It Fermented a 1.110 wort down to 1.024 for me. Its taking a while to do its job in the bottles though :D

I couldnt agree more. there could never be a day where a good brewer doesnt learn something new. I guess I'm after help putting together a good malt bill and knowing why a patricular malt is included

I too am surprised that Grand Ridge are copping a pasting. As some of the other folk have given good comments on, I too like the Gippsland Gold and moonshine. Both are full of body and sweet malt flavour.

That the thing though, you might hand over your $9 and taste heavenly nectar, but what if if its average or plain? the goods at home are of substance..

jeez, a dollar a beer! If they were anything like our government, they would tax it to hilt in an effort to "reduce binge drinking".

Haha, this reminded me of years ago when i put on a brew for my grandfather, (now passed on bless him) He insisted that i bottle every last drop, to the point where the last bottle was 1/3rd yeast and trub.. cant waste any! :D
