    Looking to buy a motorcycle

Hey Brewers, I've got a bout 6K to spend and am tossing up between a Ducati Monster 750+ or a Honda VTR1000. For 6K I can get a 98-02 Monster with around 40-50K on the clock or up to 06 VTR with similar milage. Anyone have firsthand experience with any of these bikes? cheers Browndog

    Vale Little Creatures Pale Ale

Bought myself a 568ml bottle of LCPA tonight, haven't had one for yonks. What has happened to the vibrant, rich and in your face hop/malt profile of this once flagship of Aussie craftbeer? The beer I tasted was somewhat hoppy, but without the tangy grapefruit burst I used to know and it was...

how to keep your yeast starter warm in winter

Brewers, With horrible weather up here ATM, I'm wondering how I am going to keep a yeast starter warm enough to stop the yeast from going to sleep. THe best I can come up with is have the starter and stir plate in a fermentation fridge with a lamp in there to keep it warm. What do you guys in...

Sierra Navada Beer Camp, Simmer Down Brown, Brown IPA

Hi Brewers, At Beer Camp 90 Liam and I, in conjunction with the other campers brewed a Brown IPA. This beer was bittered with Simcoe for a smooth bitterness with lots of late Centennial and Simcoe in the kettle, then more Simcoe and Centennial in a whirlpool. After fermenting out the beer went...

    God damn #^*!*&*#^& flies

Did a Double batch of a West Coast IPA today, everything went to schedule until I was running the wort through the plate chiller into the fermenter. I don't know if any of another other brewers have noticed these tiny flies, smaller than vinegar flies, they are so small they are hard to see...

Regulator gauge indicates a CO2 leak somewhere

Brewers, I've got one of those cheap "tesco I think" regulators for my CO2. It is usually hooked up to 4 kegs. I noticed the other day that when I shut the valve off on the cylinder, the high pressure gauge immediately dropped to zero. I unscrewed the gauge out of the regulator body and...

help me Computer Gurus, your my only hope

Brewers, it may be a coincindence, maybe not, but my Father-in-Law has been staying with us and now I find I have a virus or two that I can't get rid of. It seems to only affect IE, but as I do all my banking and paying bills on line, I am a bit worried. I've tried Malwarebites, CCleaner...

    Pig Gets The Last Laugh

Brewers, I went to get a Tupperware container out of the fridge that was wedged beside the half eaten leg ham. As I pulled out the container I didn't notice the ham coming with it. It fell with the bone pointing down and caught me on the side of the foot taking off skin and leaving a deep gash...

    Vale Neil Armstrong

The world has lost the ulitmate explorer. Neil Armstrong, first man to set foot on the moon has past away. A feat that was way ahead of it's time, achieved when people were driving cars with wirelesses and radial belt tyres and seat belts were optional. -Browndog
