Hey guys, We're launching Fortitude Brewing Co today at Pig N Whistle Riverside from 5pm. Our flagship beer, Fortitude Original, is a Golden Ale, packed with Waimea, Mosaic and Amarillo hops. We'll also have some Noisy Minor ANZUS IPA on tap. Pop in for a pint or two if you can! Ged

    Pinacle Kegerator

I bought from pinnacle and wish I bought from Ross. The font is absolute crap and I got flecks of black rust in my beer. Subsequently a few of my mates have bought from Ross - the font is much higher quality, the fridge is 2c colder, and all in all (gas bottle, reg, lines) it worked out...

    What Do You Reckon?

With the strong $A it cost me a bit over $100. It's provided me with hours of wistful dreamy reading and given kea few good tips along the way, so I think it's pretty good value. Ged

    What Do You Reckon?

A lot of the recipes in the weyermann almanac have surprisingly high levels of crystal, and the ones I've made gave turned out well. I think if you mash well and particularly ferment well (healthy pitch, oxygen, temp control) you can "get away" with all sorts of things that are against the...

    Getting 'pilsner' Into Pilsner

There's some stuff doing the rounds about "chit malt" (virtually unmalted barley) or flaked barley in a pils for a "grainy" taste. I'm looking to try it soon. Ged

    What If You Have?

Don't use the old malt extract. Option 1 - English pale ale - mash the pale malt, bitter with perle / por / even saaz, split your 200g fuggles at 20 / flameout / dry hop (I don't no chill so follow others advice on this). Tap off 3l wort and reduce to caramel (you don't have any crystal malt)...

Quick Disconnect Barb Stuck Of Cornelius Keg

I've noticed the newer QDs doing the rounds at the moment (white rather than grey gas ones, black beer ones) are terrible, and are doing exactly the same thing to me. They seem to have bare metal barbs rather than the old ones that maybe had a plastic coating.

    Cascade Pale Ale Suggestions?

http://www.aussiehomebrewer.com/forum//ind...ic=36020&hl "Thank you for taking the time to contact us at Cascade. Producing an exact copy of our Pale Ale using a homebrew kit is a tough ask. Youd have to purchase pale malt (Gairdner variety) grown in Tasmania - yes it does make a difference...

    Cascade Pale Ale Suggestions?

Isn't there an old post here where a lady from Cascade gives the poster the exact recipe. All gardiner pale malt, 30% sugar (!!!), POR to 22 IBU at 60 with a small addition at 10, and lager yeast. Strangely enough I think the exact same thing when I drink it - tastes far too good to follow such...

    Briess Special Roast Users?

I've used it in american ambers, milds and stout - very nice malt. Probably should be called "Special Toast" as the flavours are more toasty, and the colour is quite pale (100EBC) Def recommended.

    What Are You Brewing III

TF FM MO. By muddy I mean many things. Literally a bit hazy despite brewbrite, polyclar, cc'ing, filtration. Lacking in focus, clarity and crispness on the palate (and I don't mean an alteration in attenuation). Dull. I do use GP almost universally now with good results. Mash temps anywhere...

    What Are You Brewing III

Mate bitter is one of my favourite styles but I just haven't been able to nail it down. I've made about 10 out of the last 60 brews in the last 2 years, and haven't been happy with any of them. What have I leanrt? Marris Otter is muddy and disappointing. Simpler is better. Tried all complex...
