Airlock Bubbling, Fg Staying The Same ?

I've found that if your hydrometer sample tingles on your tongue (i.e. CO2 still dissolved in solution), then it is still fermenting. That said, I usually wait 2 weeks before I bottle as it gives a bit of time for most of the yeast to drop to the bottom while still leaving plenty in solution...

    Barley Wine On 20l Braumeister

I'm sure it'll be great. I chickened out and did a 10l Barleywine BIAB Style. Maybe the next one I do will be in the Braumeister, if this recipe turns out o.k.

    Barley Wine On 20l Braumeister

Hey Doon, How's your Barleywine going? Has the bitterness dropped off a bit? I have a 50L Braumeister with a 20L Malt Pipe and was looking for a way to make bigger beers without having to boil to reduce the volume. Cheers.

    Braumeister NEXTGEN Build

That'll teach me not to refresh my browser when I get to work. :P

    Braumeister NEXTGEN Build

On the 50L Braumeister, there are two elements. One inside the base of the maltpipe and one between the maltpipe and the outside wall. The temperature sensor is inside the base of the maltpipe, if I remember correctly.

Looks Great Truman. I wish that I had the room for a nice tidy setup like that - as it is, At the moment I have to drag everything out of storage when I want to brew. It makes it neat by mounting the pump switch in the frame, although if you haven't already, you should probably earth the frame...

Vacuum Sealer From Bulk Buy While Ago

I get mine from here: http://search.oo.com.au/search#w=vacuum%20bag They have a smooth section up the centre that you can cut and reseal to reduce the bag size. I don't know whether they are oxygen barrier but I can't smell the hops through them, which is better than the Zip-Lock Bags I was...

Hops Rhizomes For Sale X 21 Varieties

I was able to get some Hops from this guy last year. They were well packed, arrived quickly, and I had a good first year harvest. He's one of the few sellers who will go the extra mile in sending them to Tasmania ;)

    Pumphouse Review

Had lunch there a few weeks ago on a weekend trip to Sydney. Apart from the great beer, the staff bent over backwards to offer my son (who is Gluten and Dairy Intolerant) a good range of meals to choose from. It made our stay on the Big Island all that more enjoyable.

    John Cleese And "beverage-based Genocide"

"every time you buy a Canadian Club, a beer fairy dies" Sounds like a good reason to boycott Canadian Club, and I don't care what anybody says, Cleese is a Legend.

    Braumeister - Tips & Tricks

I'm looking into getting a 50L Braumeister with an extra 20L Malt Pipe, but was scared of the cost of shipping to Tasmania. I expected $100 to $200 and contacted Ross at Craftbrewer. I was surprised to learn that shipping was free as they get them shipped straight from the manufacturer in...

    What Hop Is This?

I walked past the place you described Asylum and picked a couple of cones off one of the vines. It looks like there may be a 'Daddy' Hop in the area as there were seeds in the cone. Might plant them and see what comes up.

G'day Scott, Slightly over 10 amps isn't so much of a problem. Theoretically, you could plug two ten amp heaters into the same double outlet. It isnt a good idea though, unless you are trying to trip the breaker or blow a fuse. Your circuit breaker is probably 16 amps which means that you would...

Dedicated Herms Guide, Problems And Solution Thread

Basically, an RCD measures the amount of power going out the Active and compares it to the power coming back on the Neutral. If there is any difference (i.e. going through you, or a bad/wet connection leaking to earth) it trips the switch and disconnects both the Active and Neutral conductors...

Dedicated Herms Guide, Problems And Solution Thread

Mate, +1 for adding an RCD. (from an Electricians point of view) I have been looking at setting up a 4 vessel HERMS system, so I was interested to see your design. Some very good features in your design, like prioritizing your heating elements and adding an off switch to your alarm buzzer. A...
