    Fermented way to quick

I pitched the yeast on my pumpkin ale 4 days ago. The original gravity was 1.040. Fermentation started and bubbled away nicely. The bubbling has stopped my gravity is 1.005. Is it ready for bottling? When I took the gravity, there as alot of sediment in the sample. Does that affect the gravity...

    American Buffalo Wings

@ ces Yes franks hot sauce was the original sauce that teresa belissimo used back then, and since then there have been tons of variations, I used tobasco because its readily available to us. I would recommend not using clarified butter tho, the only culinary benefit of it, is its high smoking...

    Grass Wine

any ideas anyone? Iv'e seen vodka made from grass. Mabey a high alcohol content could be used to mask the flavor. Also wine can be made out of flowers, bark, seeds etc.

Quick update, iv'e decided that grapes are essental to the brew, be they fresh or saltanas. I'm also going to use a suttle spice mix to compliment the grape. Star anise has been used with grapes for as far back as google can go. And there is something about the unique mix of cloves and grapes...

In Search Of The Perfect Mead

qquick update, iv'e been doing some research on cassia bark (the bark of the Cinnamomum aromaticum tree) and as well as having a great aroma, it has been used in brewing for 1000s of years for it's great cinnamon taste. I just so happen to have a few peices of cassia bark in the pantry. It...

    Watermelon Wheat

I just started a watermelon beer. I used a mangrove jack bavarian wheat with a copper wheat enhancer that looked very hoppy. My local supplier was out of wyeast as iv'e read that using a 3rd party wheat yeast is better for fruit beer. I'm using Brian's rule from outofkeybrewing.com for the...
