    Grumpy's Brewhaus

Only ever had a great time and experience at Grumpy's. I'm well overdue for another visit. If I win Ozlotto next week I'll buy it.

Coopers bring out a new seasonal range of tap beer

I should add that other people have tried the IPA at different venues and all have reported the same murky beer.

Why do ALL of my can kits taste bad?

I'm in the same boat as you OP. Never have had a kit beer that hasn't tasted like ass. All grain fine, kit beer bad. I think its just the kit beer. Some people just have different palates.

Coopers bring out a new seasonal range of tap beer

Drank the Coopers Brew A IPA. 6%, 60IBU. The beer was marketed as a cloudy ale... and boy was that an understatement. It was a slurry. A soup. I spoke to the bar manager about it, they pour only Coopers so they know how to handle the kegs. Stored upside down before tapping, keg rolled before...

Recipe Help - Pirate Life IPA Clone

Yep that's why. Not under pressure, the fermenters had blow off hoses going into big white buckets. The activity in the buckets... was going BANANAS.

Recipe Help - Pirate Life IPA Clone

Pirate Life use US05 for their yeast. The brewer told me when I was at the brewery. They also ferment at 21 degrees.

Plane shot down with 27 Aussies on board.

Absolutely terrible. I am SO sorry to hear of your loss.

    Coopers Vintage Ale 2014

I reckon its the best Vintage release since the 2011. Should age very nicely.

CUB launches new Crown Golden Ale

Yeah I tried it with a mate the other day after we had mashed in, my mate took a sip and said 'where's the flavour?' I took a sip and said 'yeah, where the **** is the flavour??' it was like drinking soda water. They said there's Galaxy in there, must be homeopathic amounts as we just could not...

    Doesn't look infected to me.

    Back into brewing!

I'd go a fresh wort kit. Easy as piss and gets you back into the swing of things. And the fresh wort kits are a proper AG kit so the beer is gunna be good, much better than a kit and kilo.

1st time home brewer- couple quesitons

I've smashed a hydrometer exactly the same way. and I had JUST bought it. D'oh! The way I manage fermentation - I do a hydro reading just before the yeast is first pitched. I take a quick squizz at the fermenter about two days later just to make sure some activity is happening. Then I leave it...

Coopers Lager - What Went Wrong?

It annoys me that Coopers say beer will be ready in two weeks, for me this has never been the case. More like 4 weeks.

Stone Brewing - Officially Exporting to Oz

I'm really looking forward to it. The same guys import Sixpoint too. Apparently refrigerated shipping. Which is good for us!

    Show us your brewrig

What an awesome gift!!! I'm so sorry about to hear about your mum. I lost my mother in April this year, she went from being perfectly seemingly healthy last Christmas to being diagnosed with cancer in Jan and she died in April, 13 weeks later. No two ways about it - losing your mother is tough...

Wheat beers ready quickly - the yeast or the wheat?

I've noticed the same thing using wheat. My beers normally taste ready and good at 4 weeks, but whenever I've used a sizeable amount of wheat, it's more like 2 or 2 and a half weeks and they're ready to go.

Coopers Vintage 2013 Extra Strong Ale

In my opinion Vintage hits its peak around 18 months. See if you can hang on to it for at least a year. I've got 3 years worth stored in my cellar - the 2011, (5 bottles left) 2012 (half a carton) and 2013 (3 quarters of a carton). The 2011 was amazing, the 2012 so-so, too early to tell how well...

    Australian Lost Beers

Yep I actually had a can of Southwark Bitter the other night when I visited a friend. And Southwark Old Stout is excellent - last year the brewery even kegged it for the first time in years, the Wheaty here in Adelaide got a keg and ran it through their glasshopper filled with Luwak coffee...

    Whats In The Glass (commercial)

That's fantastic. I drank a Founders Centennial IPA the other night, I really really enjoyed it. Belair Fine Wines is sending me bloody broke
