    New Diy Coopers Kit

Love the fermenter! Easy to clean and I like the way it pulls apart and it doesn't spin in the thread when you try and turn it on and off. I'd really like to buy another one but I don't want the whole kit. We don't get fruit flies up here in the highlands. Cheers Steve

    Where To Drill The Holes?

Remember there are the chilling ones on the inside, and the warm ones on the outer skin. You don't want to hit either :) Cheers Steve

    Williamswarn Personal Brewery

But it appears to dispense from the pressure vessel, which is also the fermenter. So as soon as you finish the beer you have to wait seven days for another one - or am I missing something? Cheers Steve

    Boiling Water For Fermenting K & K

Years ago when I started brewing we were in Sydney and I boiled water and allowed it to cool before filling my fermenters to make sure the water was sterilised. I did this by adding the boiling water to a cube and closed it up - like no-chill. Now we live on the farm I still do the same as the...

Brewmate Software With Added Biab Support!

Another one for a Mac port. If not an iPhone/iPad app. But as has been said it might not be feasible depending how it was written. Cheers Steve

    Biab Setup

So why don't you use the PBW on the Ally pots. I am making up my mind what to buy at the moment and Ally is in front - mainly on cost, but I also want something I don't have too treat with kid gloves. BTW, Is a 100 litre pot tot big for a single? Cheers Steve

    Micromatic Gauge Thread

I believe Micromatic are 1/4 inch NPT, but left hand threads. Have a look at Ross's website on ganging a second gauge - I'm pretty sure he says they are left handed. Cheers Steve

Strong Shelves In Fridge - What To Use ?

I got a sheet of ally checkerboard plate and cut it to the shelf size (scrap from local Metalland - or you can buy it in the big green shed). Then I got some Ally angle I had in the shed. Put the angle underneath the existing shelf, the checkerboard plate on top and screwed it together making a...

Beer Brings Horse Back From The Dead

Alcohol is an old timer's cure for colic and bloat. It relaxes the muscles and then .......buuurrrpppp ......... fffaaaaaarrrrtttt!!!!!! Horse and cattle generally like the taste of beer (even XXXX!!!!) - even better if you put a bit of molasses on it. But you need a fair bit Cheers Steve

    What Next

Newbie Alert!!!!!! For the "25 grams of Cascade Dry Hopped after about 5 days..." Do you just throw these in the fermenter, sterilise them first (somehow) or boil/steep and put liquid in? Cheers Steve

    Joining Two Co2 Regs

To keep the peace with SWMBO, and to release the purse stings for an outside bar, I needed to get the pressure up on her Soda Water Keg. So the answer was to get dual gas regs. Problem was I had two single Keg King regs. I spoke with Keg King and found out that their regulator thread was Right...

    Real Ale Cask Options

You could also use the cask aspiration valve shown half way down the page here http://www.cfbsonline.co.uk/ It looks just like an LPG reg which makes sense. You don't want to carbonate a "Real Ale" type beer/stout so putting CO2 into the keg at 4 psi or lower (if you have an adjustable one)...

Why Are Australian Suppliers So Expensive Compare To Usa?

Partly the size of the market. If you are selling x items and you need to make y profit to make a living then the larger x is then the less you have to sell each unit for. Remember the guy selling them has to make a living, so has to make $ per hour to earn a living. Partly the GST - add 10 %...

    Wires Through Fridge

Indeed it is - but it was the temp of my fermenters so it stabilised much easier so could see it cycle. Have now got it at 19C now and see what the fermenters stabilise at. Cheers Steve
