    Yeast Farming

Been yeast farming for quite a while now just to keep a good supply on hand at any one time however my brother regularly visits the US and is able to bring back some ore obscure yeasts for me, so this should be very interesting. My question relates to the Kveik yeasts. I've just got a vial of...

    Welders

Cheers for the leads guys. I know exactly who you guys were talking about now. Didnt even think to get him to do them for me when I go and pick up a nice big boiler. The welds required may be for a purifier of sorts ;) Cheers!

    Welders

I did give that crack, with some so-so results. The solder was a bit too soft for my liking.

    Welders

Hey guys, I'm chasing someone who can TIG weld. I have some copper and stainless pieces that need joining. It would be less than 1/2 of work for someone who knows what they are actually doing. Can pay in beer or spirits or cash (preferably the first 2). If you're willing and able to help...

    Beer Dogs

hahah some good pics in here! Here's my brew dog Lucy. She is my missus dog, which I wasnt really a fan of. But she's grown on me quite alot :) She's about 2, and is an Australian Koolie with the Sable merle colouring. Unfortunately, the gene responsible for her striking markings is also...

How Much Do You Spend On Alcohol A Month?

So it looks like maybe 2-3 batches a month is enough to keep the beer supply up and the brewing progression on the march. $150 looks pretty good, thats a few batches, with a bit of extra spending money as well.

How Much Do You Spend On Alcohol A Month?

You're right, I'll probably get a very biased answer from people coming from here. This isn't to feel better or worse, it's to determine a decent level of expenditure so I can progress my brewing and still enjoy the hobby without penny pinching to a ridiculous degree. That's an amazing idea on...

How Much Do You Spend On Alcohol A Month?

Hey guys, It's recently come to my attention through a variety of methods that I probably spend far too much on alcohol per month. I've never really noticed, nor has it been a problem. I have just set myself a few new financial goals I would like to achieve in the near future which means I...

    Heater Pad Temp Control

In a normal size vessel, this wont be any issue. STC-1000 will sort you out too.

Stovetop Brewing Is Wrecking My Benchtop

By the sounds of that, I'd be buying an urn and brewing outside hahah

Stovetop Brewing Is Wrecking My Benchtop

Have you put your hand between the pot and the benchtop? If its too hot, that pot will be the source of the heat. Try putting a wooden cutting board or something of a similar nature between the pot and the benchtop. This will soak up the heat and expand instead of the bench top. It should also...

Where To Find Good Beer In Brisbane

Speaking of which, are any of these places takeaway? I'd like to drop in and grab a few decent brews and then drink them at home when I have the time. Surely there has to be somewhere that has a really good selection.

    Don't Brew Pi$$ed

I think you might be referring to me. Good suggestion. That should make it pretty straightforward/dickhead proof when ti comes time for additions. Also easy to see if you have forgotten anything at all.

    Don't Brew Pi$$ed

I know that feeling :( Was changing the oil in the cruiser and forgot to put the sump plug back in. 11.5L of J-Max oil all through my garage. Needless to say, nothing will rust in there for quite a while. I'm already forgetting my whirfloc/hops additions, without a beer!
